During their time burying the woman, I kept a close eye on the small group from my perch on the bridge. Once they were done, I ushered them back into the break area to be watched. I kept my word to Sasha and did not say anything to anyone about the discussion between their group before. In my own mind, I believed that they deserved a chance despite how awful that man had acted.

When Rick and the others finally returned, I told Hershel and Beth to go on and meet Maggie and Glenn outside. Beth gladly handed Judith over to me before going out to meet her sister, who she had been so worried about. I carefully held Judith in my arms while continuing to watch the small group sitting at the table across from me. Once Hershel and Beth had finally left, leaving me with just Axel and the group, I spoke up directing my attention at the man who threatened my group. "Don't think that just because I have this baby in my hands means that I can't kill you if needed."

The man glared at me before looking back at his son. Sasha and Tyreese kept their heads down. They wanted to stay here and knew why I was acting this way, so they did not interfere with my warning to the man. Axel took a step away from me as though he were frightened of what I could possibly do to him if he stepped out of line. After all, he didn't even know what had occurred earlier in the day to make me threaten the man, so it must have seemed as though I were just trying to keep them in line.

Though I knew the siblings that stood at the table before me were good people, part of me knew that if Rick allowed them to stay here I would never let my guard completely down because of that man. He seemed too envious and threatening to keep around. To me, it felt like he gave off a presence that demanded being either the center of attention or the lead of things. I knew with Rick's "not a democracy anymore" thing going on that there would be a lot of head-butting going on.

Judith moved in my arms, so I positioned her better to keep a steady grip on her. Her tiny body was weightless, so I was always scared of the possibility of dropping her. She began to fuss and move even more, so I turned to Axel. "I'm going to take her into her cell to find her pacifier. Keep an eye on them, please."

Axel gave me a small smile followed by a simple, "Yes ma'am." I nodded to him as a "thank you",  then carefully walked into the cell block making sure I didn't drop the squirming baby. Most of the time she was quiet, but there were times like this when she would get fussy. It usually meant she was hungry or needed a diaper change. I gently placed her down in the Styrofoam cooler, that was used as her crib, that Daryl so gratefully decorated with the words, "Lil Ass Kicker." After gently placing her in the makeshift crib, I grabbed a diaper and began to change her.

Just as I finished changing the baby's diaper, Beth walked in holding Maggie's hand. She let go of Maggie long enough to grab Judith from me. Once she had a hold on the sweet baby, I immediately wrapped my arms around Maggie's waist. Tears stung my eyes as I pulled away to make sure she was okay. Her expression reflected mine, but her eyes held sadness. "Don't scare us like that again." I whispered, holding her hands in mine. She nodded and hugged me again.
