"Were you crazy, Earth Katsamonnat?!"

Earth winced at the glare his friend sent him across the room. He saw Fluke walk right into where he sat at the moment with this madness aura surrounding the other beta like a halo. "Hey there, nice to see you too, Fluke."

Fluke hurriedly throw the closest thing to him, which was his handbag, to Earth's face, "Don't hey me, you stupid!"

Earth caught the bag easily, "Calm down and sit for now," he pointed to the seat across from him. He looked around with an apologetic smile to the other customer of the restaurant.

Fluke huffed and crossed his arms; he looked at the other beta, his stupid friend, with a look that screams explain-yourself-you-dead-meat.

"Why were you looking at me like that?" Earth asked after his friend sat down and drank the water off the glass on the table.

"You left me at the club just to go with that man, Earth!" Fluke hissed out of anger. He huffed and crossed his arms, "If it weren't for the fact that I got a mountain of work at the office, I would strangle you the next day after that night."

Earth raised an eyebrow, and he chuckled, "Weren't you supposed to be happy that I caught myself a fuck buddy that night? You were the one who suggested I get a one-night-stand, remember?"

Fluke looked sour for a moment, slightly regretting his words that night. He actually didn't believe his secluded friend would actually do it, then his face turned crestfallen the next, "I'm sure you don't know anything about that man before, right? He was famous for—"

"Changing his partner and didn't settling for one?" Earth cut off Fluke's sentence as he knew where his friend was going with his talk. "I know what I was getting myself into before I gave my consent that night, Fluke."

When Earth cut his words, Fluke was surprised, especially after the other beta said he knew who Kao Noppakao was. "I'm worried for you," he replied with a small sound.

"Why, though?" Earth raised an eyebrow, trying not to be affected by what Fluke had said, especially because he doesn't want to admit that he was pretty upset about the fact that it was only a one-night stand.

"I knew you, Earth. I'm afraid you will only get hurt if you get yourself into with that man," Fluke said. He looked closely into Earth's eyes, "Especially if you fall for him."

Earth wanted to laugh and said that he had fallen in love with that alpha, but he definitely couldn't say that to his friend. Instead, he scoffed, "You worry for nothing. I was only letting go of my virginity that you said will be a waste if I keep it any longer." He tried to laugh at his own words, "And I only went with the flow that night."

Fluke wasn't convinced in the slight less with what the other beta was spouting. It sounded like a lie, and he knew damn well the expression that Earth wants to hide was actually quite visible to him. "Are you sure you weren't involved in any feelings that night?" Fluke asked, then he immediately interjected when Earth was about to make a smart remark. "Not excitement. I mean, like romance or affection?"

There was a pause, and Earth didn't answer right away, which made Fluke sighed deeply as if what he feared was right. All of it.

"Earth, I haven't known you for only a day or two, you know? I'm familiar with your nature," Fluke grasped the other beta's hand on top of the table. "You don't have to try to make it seem like nothing."

As he felt Fluke's hand on top of his, Earth smiled bitterly, "I can't really fool you, can I?"

Fluke squeezed Earth's hand to show a little bit of support. He gave the other beta a sincere smile, "You like him for real this time, right? Not merely a crush that can be forgotten after a day or two," he said. He looked straight into Earth's black orbs deeply, "You can't stop thinking about him."

Earth looked at his hand in the other beta's grasp; he slowly nodded.

Fluke gave the beta in front of him a small smile, "When your mind is occupied by other things, you can gradually get him out of your mind, Earth."

Earth looked up and slightly grumbled under his breath, "Easier said than done, you stupid. I tried to focus on the babies at the daycare instead, but every little thing can led me to remember about that man." His face turned crestfallen, and his voice a bit broken at the end.

"If fate really deemed the both of you as destiny, then you will be united with him eventually," Fluke replied in a rather serious tone of voice, which was rare for Earth, seeing as Fluke was the most outgoing person he knew.

Earth frowned, even though his heart swells at the thought of being together with that alpha, but then he smiled bitterly as if reality struck him. "You were the one who said destinies are only meant for alphas and omegas, not for a beta like me, Fluke."

Fluke could read Earth's expression like an open book right now, and it kept changing gradually from happy to sad in a short moment. "I'm not always right, Earth," he whispered, loud enough for Earth to hear it.

Earth stayed silent and didn't say anything for a while. He was merely looking down at his hand on the table, mind wiring elsewhere.

Fluke saw Earth's face, which looked like he doesn't want to talk about this anymore, so he relented, and he changed the subject after both of them were silent.

Then, they continue their conversation solemnly, partly because Earth didn't really want to talk about his feelings, and Fluke also doesn't want to force the other beta to talk about it too.
