Three days after he met with Fluke at the restaurant, the one thing that hasn't left his mind was when he saw Kao enter a hotel with another beta. If before he can't get the alpha out of his mind, it was due to the lingering feelings he felt. Now, the alpha had been occupying his mind because of the bitter feeling of seeing Kao with another person beside him.

Earth knew that he didn't have any privilege to feel hurt or betrayed, but still, he felt like the alpha had easily forgotten about him. Meanwhile, here he was, more than a week after that fateful night, and he still can't get the alpha out of his head even if his heart was wrenched in pain when he remembered that sight three nights ago.

"You better forget about him too, Earth," he mumbled to himself.

With that decided, he spends his day in a cheery mood, trying to cover up the hurtful memories of the alpha from his mind. He is taking care of a baby girl today because her parents have an appointment that they can't cancel.

Earth cooed at the baby as she gave light punches with her tiny little hands.

"Ogu, ogu, you felt better after taking a bath, huh?" He asked the baby playfully with baby voices, to which the baby replied with a toothless smile on her lips.

Earth was actually glad that his job, taking care of the babies here, became a distraction for him.

Throughout the day, he made himself busy by working double shifts at the daycare. That way, all he could think about was finishing the job at hand rather than a certain alpha. After making sure that he had cleaned the infants' room, he went back home riding a bus because his house was only 10 minutes away.

The hustle and bustle of people outside the bus were enough distractions for Earth's mind, which he was thankful for. Instead, he observed the interaction that was happening from the bus window. He saw the behavior of some people, and his eyes darted to a small family that was walking hand in hand with their baby girl in between them.

Earth smiled, seeing how harmonies the family looked right now. Then, as the bus drives away from the traffic signs, he can see a glimpse of a bite mark on the smaller man's neck.

An alpha-omega family.

He smiled pitifully to himself when he saw just how easy it was for them to have a family happy with a child between them. But, of course, he wants to have what that claimed omega felt, but he can only dream the impossible with his wish.

As his eyes were still looking closely at the omega's mark, his hand suddenly went to his shoulder, to where he knew a bite mark was still engraved on it, which made him reminded of the one left it upon his skin. His hand sneaked inside the jacket he was wearing, and through the shirt, he can clearly tell where the bite mark was. 

It has been more than a week since he got the scar, but the mark has not gone ever since.  A part of him was questioning why it still has not to vanish, but another part was happy to be left something by the first person he ever felt so attracted that he still has not forgotten about.

The mark had faded slightly, not as red as a fresh wound but still clearly visible on his white skin. Luckily for him, the wound can be hidden just easily, so he had no problem walking out with the scar on his shoulder without being questioned on the teeth marks there.

Thinking again about the man who left the scar on him, he was reminded just how enticed he was to the alpha as he can still feel the lingering touch and remembered the voice which whispered sweet words to him. Earth admitted that he knew what kind of person Kao was through what little that bartender had told him; he knew what he was getting into by agreeing to give his first time to the alpha. 

Earth knew he had zero chance for his feelings to be mutual, but it still hurts. Of course, it was different from hearing the rumors, but seeing it first hand, as the alpha went inside a hotel with another beta, had left him with nothing but aches. 

Earth sighed deeply.

Your mission now is to forget him, not reminiscing those feelings again, Earth.

He scolded himself internally. Then, he took off from the bus when it stopped at the bus stop near his house. Then, he started to recite an old poem in his head to distract him as he walked home.

After taking a warm bath to ease his aching body, he decided to drink a glass of cold chocolate milk from his fridge. Then, with a towel draped over his neck to prevent his slightly damp hair from wetting his shirt, Earth sat down on the beanbag in his living room. He rarely watches TV and would usually spend his day reading a book, be it a biography or sometimes a novel, and he has many collections of books on his bookshelves. 

Earth suddenly felt the urge to watch the TV tonight to update himself on society's ongoing as he remembered people often making fun of him and called him ignorant of it. He changed from channel to channel but then stopped at once when the screen showed certain entertainment news channels.

Earth stared at the TV with an unreadable expression. His hand, which was holding the glass of milk, went to placed it on the table near him. His eyes were busy looking at the title of the news, which wasn't really news to him because he knew about it, but still, seeing it become important enough to be broadcasted on the TV was quite shocking.

"The heir of the DT group was seen entering a hotel three nights in a row with a different person every time."

Earth heard the entertainment news' anchor say that they caught sight of Kao entering a hotel on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday night with different men.

The beta then remembered when he saw Kao after he came back from meeting Fluke, it was the last day on the weekend, meaning Sunday night. So that means they caught sight of Kao just yesterday, three days in a row indeed.

He stared blankly at the blackness of the TV screen after he turned it off. He had seen enough of the news and wish to saw no longer the pictures that went viral on it. Pictures of the same back figure of a man he knew really well because he looked at it when the owner held his hand that night. The back he remembers he left scratches on when they became one that ni—

Earth cut off his own thoughts, and he let out a small laugh, a small pitiful laugh.

Whenever he tried to forget about the alpha, again and again, he was being reminded about reality through any means. As if fate wants him to remember the person who felt nothing for him, who only saw him as one of those who warms his bed. Earth only had one thought that crossed his mind right now.

How cruel.
