The scraped sound of a chair being pushed back as the one who sat down was now standing could be heard. It took mere seconds for the alpha to round the table and pull the beta in a hug as gently as he could despite his excitement. He buried his head in the smaller shoulder of the person he loves, who had just admitted to loving him back.

"I'm so happy," Kao murmured as he could feel the beta also burying his face in the crook of his neck. "Thank you for loving me back, Earth."

The beta nodded his head, not trusting his voice that must have been trembling through the tears that slowly ran down his face. He slightly pushed the alpha back as he helped the kneeling man to stand and guided him to sit comfortably on the loveseat beside him.

Kao gazed deeply into the beta's black orbs, and he still had both his hands on Earth's arms, not willing to let it go just yet. "I didn't expect you to love me this fast," he said.

Earth softly giggled after making sure no more tears would fall from his face; he doesn't want to look ugly, especially now. "I could have said the same for you, Kao. I never thought you would love me back."

Kao scoffed playfully, "You knew I had confessed that I like you before, right? Only a matter of time before I fall in love with you, especially since you're just that irresistible."

"Truthfully, I was afraid that I heard it wrong or my mind was playing tricks on me. I had actually realized my feelings for you long before you confessed to me, but I was holding back because I thought you were not the type for relationships," Earth smiled bitterly.

"You know, it sounds like what I used to be," Kao replied, chuckling softly while also looking at the beta with fond looks.

Earth furrowed his eyebrows, feeling quite not understanding what the alpha had meant.

"I used to think I would be better off without relationships, but that was before I met you and realized you felt right to be with. Like, a piece of me is complete the more time I spend with you," Kao softly smiled.

Earth felt like there was more to what the alpha answered, feels like Kao has an old story that made him that way. He was no impatient person, so Earth will wait until the alpha is ready to tell him more about it. While thinking this, he was unconsciously biting his lower lips, but as soon as he realized it, he blushed because he saw Kao's eyes looking back and forth between Earth's lips and eyes.

"Can I kiss—"

Earth decided to pull the alpha by the collar of his shirt and gave him a peck on the lips; hence Kao never got the chance to finish his request. As the beta pulled back, he saw just how surprised Kao looked after the stunt he pulled. Earth pursed his lips and looked like he was shy about kissing the alpha.

Instead of acting all surprised than he already was, Kao felt like he could not believe the shy beta kissed him first.

"It's not like it was our first kiss," the beta murmured when he saw just how enthralled Kao looked at him, and the alpha almost missed it because Earth spoke it so low.

Kao internally was elated that Earth was the one who initiated the kiss, so he felt more challenged as he still felt the urge to kiss those delectable lips deeply. So, without further ado, the alpha closed the gap between their faces, slowly and softly kissed the beta's upper lips, eliciting a soft moan from his partner by the intensity.

Earth slightly blushed as he realized he had let out such an embarrassing sound, but he immediately closed his eyes, tilted his face slightly to give the alpha more access to his lips. Then, as their kiss deepened, he circled his arms on Kao's neck while he felt a pair of arms bringing his body closer by the waist.
