It has been a few days since that fateful night, and Earth still can't get the alpha out of his head. He tried to alleviate his mind by working hard at the daycare institution he works at. The Sunshine daycare was always full of children, where they provided supervision and care of infants and young children during the daytime, particularly so that their parents could hold jobs.

Earth has always loved working at the daycare solely because he likes children. Being a beta makes his choice to have his own children, shortened to marrying a woman beta to have his child. With him being gay, the chance of him having his own children in the future with the one he loves had been crossed out. Beta males can't get pregnant with another male, not like alpha and omega couples.

The cries of a baby brought Earth back into reality. He hurriedly went to one of the occupied cribs and cooed while picking the baby up to his arms.

"There, there, I am here," Earth tried to calm the baby. He picked up the bottle of breastmilk he had heated up and placed the tip to the baby's mouth.

The baby immediately latched onto the nipple of the bottle and started sucking on the milk.

Earth chuckled, seeing how the baby was so eager to drink his mother's milk. "Aw, you are so hungry, huh. When I feed you on your feed time, you won't even open your eyes and now you went hungry when it had passed your time to eat, huh," he cooed at the baby.

His hand moved on its own to take a soft handkerchief from the pocket of his apron to wipe the spilled milk on the baby's cheek. He felt so used to taking care of children in the daycare, mainly infants, that he knew his way around babies with the back of his hand.

After the baby emptied the milk bottle, Earth placed a clean towel and draped it on his left shoulder. Then, he carefully held the baby's neck and arranged the baby's head on top of the towel. He slowly tapped the baby's back using the same hand holding the baby's neck until after he heard the baby burps, Earth placed him down onto the crib again.

"Let me change your diaper first, then you can go back to sleep, sweetheart," Earth said in a sing-a-song voice. He went to place the dirty towel from his shoulder to the dirty clothes basket, and he took a new diaper from the bag that the baby's mother left and then started to change the diaper.

As he interacted with the baby more, Earth couldn't help the tiny ache in his heart as he saw the baby. He wishes there is a choice for him to have his own children with the one person he likes. There is actually a choice, like paying for a surrogate, but as he said, he wants the child to be his and his loved ones.

Earth was looking at the 10-month-old baby with a small smile on his lips; this was why he works in a daycare. He can interact with babies as a diversion for his hopeless wish, even though his heart still longed for having a child of his own.

He focused back on reality and had to smile as he saw the sleeping baby in the crib. He winced a little as the scar on his shoulder stung him as it rubbed against his shirt. He walked onto the nearest mirror and opened his shirt to reveal his shoulder. There it was, the one mark that Kao left on him as a reminder of their actions that night, which made Earth start to think of the alpha, again.

If only I were an omega...

He won't be this far out of my reach.

We live in a very different world.

I am just one of his past times.

I am nothing more than a one-night experience for him.

But...

He became my first in everything.

Meanwhile, there is this one alpha who was still thinking of the night he spent with this one beta.

He can't get that one night out of his mind, especially since he could still feel the lingering feelings of when he held that beta in his arms.

How their bodies just felt compatible.

How his sense was telling him to treat the beta carefully.

How he had the beta's face imprinted on his mind.

It had been days since that night, and there he was, half mind working on the documents in front of him, and the other half was wondering.

If I could find another beta like that one.

Suddenly, he felt like he found a solution to his problem. He scoffed at the idea of meeting the same person as his partner for the night. That was why there were rumors of him heading into a hotel with different betas every time. So, he decided to head to a beta club this weekend.

To find one like him.
