Earth stared at the wall of his apartment with an empty look. Sure, he expected the alpha not to recognize him straight away, but the entire time he ate his food while glancing over Kao's table. The alpha hadn't shown any signs of remembering him, even until the alpha left the restaurant first despite Earth coming before the two alphas.

He came back home feeling rather odd, and he felt disappointed to find out he was no longer in the alpha's mind. Earth scoffed at the wall far from where he was sitting, "What were you hoping, Earth?"

He laid down on his bed, eyes looking at the ceiling as he mulled things over in his head. He tried leaving the alpha to leave his mind, to forget about that man, but it was not as easy as it sounds.

He wasn't one to fall in love this easily, but when he met that man, Earth felt like a part of his world was already in the alpha's grasp. Sure, he had a crush or two over the men he knew, but not to the extent that he felt rather connected, not to the point of giving himself completely in his first meeting, not like what happened with Kao.

He placed his right hand on his chest, right on top of his heart. The thumping of the beats that his hand felt was rather calming. As easily as he fell in love with Kao, can he easily forget the man now?

Earth felt like someone had whispered a saying by his ears when the answer came along in his head.

You can't easily fall out of love with someone.

The beta sighed and sat up from his lying position. He wiped his hands over his face and unruly his hairs in the process. If he can't forget about the alpha, maybe continuing his best to avoid thinking about the man was his only option.

A few weeks later, he walked inside a cafe he usually frequented, eyes on his phone when he suddenly bumped his head into a broad back and was about to fall if not for the hands that reached out to pull his arm up, which made his phone fall to the floor.

"Ouch."

Earth gasped at the sudden moves as he regained his bearing; he was breathing heavily as his heart was beating faster due to feeling shock. Remembering what happened to him just now made him think of how cliche this was actually. He felt rather foolish for being clumsy and also want to scold himself for being too stupid to look where he was going.

He looked up to face the one who he bumped into and also the one who prevented him from falling, only to gape in befuddlement as a thought crossed his mind right that instant.

The more I don't want to think about him, and here Kao was standing in front of me.

"Sure, thank you for agreeing to the condition that my company offered," he shook hands with the person he was meeting this fine day. Then, he walked out of the restaurant to the lobby to ask the valet to bring his car.

He looked at the watch on his wrist and saw that it was only 10 in the morning. He sighed, ruffled his fine hair back, and then decided to buy a cup of ice coffee to wake himself up. Truly, morning meetings were his least favorite, and he needs caffeine so badly to fill up his energy again for the day. So his feet walked inside a cafe that wasn't filled with customers inside but felt rather homey.

"Iced Americano double shots, please," he said to the cashier. While he was waiting for his order to finish, he looked at the menu on top of the cashier's head. Listing many interesting drinks and their delicacies that were written there. Then, he was rather surprised when someone bumped into him.

"Ouch."

He turned around with a trained reflex and caught the smaller guy who was about to fall. He grasped both of the guys' arms up, and he paid half a mind when a thud was heard on the floor.
