The cat's out of the bag 1
"Hinata...?" Suga called out as he stared at the two teens, not sure where to start. Shoyo was startled as he heard Suga's voice. He quickly whistled, hoping that it was only him, but to his dismay he could see the whole team's silhouettes. Kei was frozen on the spot before he heard his boyfriend's heavy breathing next to him and his attention immediately switched to him. "Please get out" was all Tsukishima said, giving them a glare as they all quietly left the room, quickly regretting what they had done.
Once they left, Tsukishima did his best to calm Shoyo down, still holding onto his left prosthetic eye that he was in the middle of cleaning, meaning he couldn't really do anything since he had to be careful. He hurriedly yet carefully finished cleaning his eye, helping Shoyo put it back in before hugging him, telling him that everything was fine and that nothing would change.
Shoyo clung to him with all his might, the corner of his eyes tearing up, soon falling quietly down his cheeks as he sniffled, continuously repeating how the team probably hates him now. Kei did his best to try and get him to look at the bright side, but right now Shoyo wouldn't listen, he wasn't yet ready to share his secret with everyone, and the fact they had found out this way was much worse than it would have been to just tell them.
Shoyo, who had been excited not that long ago, was now distraught and scared, clinging onto Kei as if he was his lifeline. Kei, who was getting increasingly worried for him, didn't know what to do except to hug him tighter, patting his back soothingly, the same way Shoyo had done for him not too long ago.
"Listen closely Shoyo, they won't hate you and nothing will change, alright?" he eventually said once Shoyo had stopped sniffling, his breathing more even. The only response he got was a quiet nod from him, but it was enough to make Kei relax a little.
With the team
Once they returned to the room, Yama was there glaring daggers at them as he saw their expressions. "What did I tell you?" was all he said with a stern voice as he left the room, slamming the door after him as he left the team behind, stunned. "We.. we really did something we shouldn't have done..." Nishinoya said quietly, feeling bad as he remembered the panicked expression Shoyo had as he noticed them. The team could only nod as they shared solemn looks, not sure how to make up for what they did.
The team didn't even think about what they had witnessed as they could only remember the look Shoyo had when they left the room. Eventually they all sat down, no one dared to say anything as the guilt ate them up from the inside.
Soon Yama arrived where Shoyo and Kei were, knocking. "It's me, Shoyo, Tsukki," he said, waiting for them to respond. "Come in" Shoyo responded in a quiet voice before Yama slowly opened the door, giving the two a weak smile. "I'm sorry I wasn't able to stop them Shoyo," Yama said, his voice sad. Shoyo on the other hand shook his head, giving a sad smile back "I know you tried Yama, thank you."
Yama walked up to the two, joining in on the hug, Shoyo smiling a bit wider now, "thank you both" he then said, tears once more welling up at the corner of his eyes, although this time they weren't due to being sad. Shoyo soon looked down quietly, before eventually asking "do they hate me now?" knowing Yama had seen the team once they inevitably returned.
"Not at all, in fact, they all looked destroyed and worried, unsure about how to make up for what they did. Noya said they did something terrible after I left the room, hence I don't think you need to worry about them hating you Shoyo. They are more hung up on the fact they hurt you," Yama finished with a small smile as he looked at Shoyo's surprised expression. "Really?" he then said quietly, still looking in Yama's general direction, not quite sure where he was since he hadn't whistled.
"Really," was all Yama said before he stood back up. "If you don't want to talk about it, I can tell them as much if you wish. I'm sure they won't mind waiting until you're ready." Shoyo contemplated the offer before he nodded, adding a quiet "please" before Yama left the room, heading towards the rest of the team in order to inform them to not ask about this incident, as well as give them a firm scolding for what they did.
The two boys that were left behind stayed quiet for a while before Kei asked if Shoyo wanted to go for a short walk in order to get his mind off things and relax for a bit. Smiling back he nodded, standing up before Kei grabbed his hand, walking out of the washroom with him, heading down the quiet halls and stepping outside for some fresh air.
Yama, in the meantime, was heading to the room, planning to chew the team out as he was extremely pissed at their behaviour, he had thought better of his upperclassmen, so at this point he didn't plan on holding back, knowing he had warned them, tried to stop them from going there and yet they dared look like that after not listening to his warnings.
He stopped in front of the door, taking a deep breath in an attempt to calm down before he opened, stepping inside while glaring at them. They all looked up, hope was in their eyes as they thought it would be Shoyo, but instead it was an extremely pissed Yama standing there, scaring them. "Don't you dare give such destroyed expressions after ignoring every single warning I gave you, now sit quietly and listen to me."
They all froze, scared as the normally kind and shy boy turned into a demon before their eyes, 'we definitely screwed up' they all thought as they looked at the angry boy, nodding quietly in response, not daring to speak. After a firm scolding from the normally kind boy, he gave them a warning not to ask Shoyo about this incident and that he would talk to them when HE was ready for it, that they were to pretend the incident never happened until then. The team could only nod, knowing he was right.
Once he was done he sent a text to Kei, saying that he gave the team 'the scolding of a lifetime' and that they promised not to ask any questions regarding what they saw. If Shoyo wants to talk about it he will bring it up.
Kei smiled as he read the text, relaying the contents to Shoyo who smiled a small but happy smile as he nodded towards Kei. The two eventually decided to return to the team, the team welcoming them back as if nothing had happened just like they agreed on. Shoyo smiled a weak, sad smile as he nodded, quickly laying down and hugging Kei as he fell asleep, too tired to keep himself awake.
The rest of the team soon followed their lead, returning to their sleeping bags, Tanaka turning off the lights as they fell asleep one after the other, all of them still thinking about what a bad thing they had done, as well as how scary Yama could be if he was mad. Some of them were taking a mental note to never anger him again.
