After learning about who Charlie was in this world, time started to pass by rather quickly. Before he knew it, it was time for the new born army to blow through. The plan was for all of the imprints to stay at Emily's place while the pack went to fight. The overwhelming scent of the pack would supportively keep the new born vampires away from the house. Keeping each of the imprints safe while the Pack was busy in the fight. It seemed like a pretty sound plan and Charlie was hoping that it would work. The new born army and when the Volturi come for Nessie are the only two times that Charlie was worried about losing his life in this world. After the two events come and go, he's going to relax a bit more.

The pack had left about two hours ago and everything is calm at Emily's. Emily and Kim were in the kitchen while Charlie was sitting on the back porch on a rocking chair. He was flipping through a magazine mindlessly trying to keep his mind off what was happening miles away. Of course he knew the out come of the battle. No one gets hurt besides Jacob but he still heals perfectly fine. But because of his luck from his last lives, he wasn't confident something won't go horribly wrong.

The sound of the phone ringing made Charlie stand up and lean against the door way. He could easily see into the kitchen from his spot. So he watched as Emily walked over to the wall phone and answer it. To far away to actually hear what was being said by Emily but the smile made him believe that the battle was already won and over. Emily's eyes meant Charlie's and she nodded to let him know that everyone was okay. Charlie let out a sigh of relief but the sound of a stick breaking caused his attention to snap towards the forest. He stepped away from the house and towards the trees thinking it was just the pack.

Instead of seeing the large bodies of the Pack, red eyes locked with his blue ones. Charlie took in a sharp breath as he turned around quickly and rushed to the door.

"Emily!" Charlie shouted as he reached the door. The vampire was quick to grab him and toss him away from the house and to the tree line. Charlie had been able to grab the door and slam it close just as he was tossed to the side. If Emily had been on the phone with Sam then hopefully the Pack would be there in time to save them. However until they showed up, Charlie would do anything to keep the Vampire away from Emily and Kim.

The vampire seemed uninterested in Charlie as it started to track up the back steps towards the door. Charlie's heart started pounding quickly as he looks around quickly to look for something, anything. A small rock drew his attention and he grabbed it quickly before chucking it at the vampire. The rock bounced off the back of the head of the vampire. It paused in it's movement before turning towards Charlie and hissed angrily in his direction. Charlie stood up about to run off into the woods to draw it away but the vampire was instantly in front of him and was pinning him to a tree. Charlie tried to claw at the hands around his neck but it didn't so much of anything.

"Don't you know not to toss rocks at things bigger then you?" The vampire hissed in Charlie's face.

"Don't you know not to play with your good?" Charlie choked out as his eyes caught movement behind the vampire.

The vampire started to dig it's fingers into his neck and was about to sink it's teeth into his shoulder when a wolf suddenly jumped at the vampire from the left. The Pack quickly dealt with the lone vampire before turning to check on Charlie. Paul shifted back quickly at the sight of his imprint on the ground covered in blood. Ignoring the fact he was naked, Paul dropped to the space next to a gasping Charlie. Because the vampire had it's fingers digging into his neck, when it was ripped from his body by one of the wolves, the vampire had caused a large wound on Charlie's neck.

"No no no!" Paul cried as he put his hands on Charlie's neck trying to stop the bleeding. His body shook as he cried and tried to keep his body from phasing. "Sam call Carlisle!" He glanced behind him towards the others for a moment before turning back to Charlie.

"P..a.." Charlie tried to speak but ended up choking on blood instead.

"I'm right here. Don't talk it'll be okay." Paul whispered.

"Here Paul use this to add pressure." Emily said as she rushed to his side with a towel. He grabbed it and replaced his hands with it before then holding it. His hands were already covered in blood.

"What happened?" Charlie heard Sam ask from behind Paul. Charlie kept his eyes focused on Paul's face but he could feel himself getting weaker.

"You called and then I heard Charlie call out for me." Emily's voice shook making Charlie believe she was crying. "By the time I turned to look he slammed the door close to try and stop the vampire from coming inside." She explained hastefully. "He was trying to protect us."

"It's okay Carlisle is on his way, it'll be okay." Sam said as he more then likely hugged Emily to calm her down.

Charlie weakly reached up his hand and cupped Paul's face. He locked eyes with the hotheaded wolf that was leaning over with him. Paul's eyes were filled with tears as he could practically fill the pain of his imprint. Charlie opened his mouth to try and speak again but only choked on more blood. However the shaking of his hand seemed to give Paul the hint.

"No no it'll be okay just hold on. Carlisle is almost here." Paul spoke and putting more weight on the wound. His body was shaking violently.

"Paul you need to step back. Your going to phase." Sam tried to pull Paul back but Paul shook off his Alpha.

"He needs me." Paul growled out. He couldn't leave when his imprint was in this much pain. Charlie's breathing started to slow down causing Paul to panic. "No don't give up just hold on. Please"

Charlie weakly took ahold of one of Paul's hands that were on his neck and held it as tight as he could. It was a shame that he wouldn't be able to build this relationship with Paul. Charlie had been looking forward to it. He was hoping that Paul would still get to imprint on one of the Black sisters like he was meant to. He deserved to be happy. Meeting Paul's eyes again, Charlie smiled at him the best he could before he allowed the darkness to take ahold of him.
