The only reason Uther wanted Charlie was to scold her for sneaking off on her own. Apparently she was always meant to have either her brother or her personal guard, Liam by her side. She had been in this world for a few days and she hasn't even seen this Liam until now which made her a bit suspicious of him. Liam was a tall brunette that wore the classic red coat of arms of Camelot. His green eyes seemed hard and his lips were in a firm line.
After the talk with Uther, Charlie and Liam left the castle to walk through the town. Charlie felt unsure about what to say to this knight that was following her. However that was fixed by him as he pulled her into a space between two houses and pushed his lips up against hers once they were out of the sight of the people. Her eyes widened as she moved her hands to his chest and pushed him off of her.
"What do you think you are doing?!" Charlie squealed as she pushed away the handsome knight. Everything about this seemed wrong but she was worried she was about to break this knights heart if they were together while this body didn't have her soul.
"What?" Liam asked shocked that Charlie had pushed him away. "Why are you freaking out? You love this.." Liam spoke. It was the first time Charlie heard Liam speak and his voice was rather deep and rough. It made her jump slightly.
"I'm sorry but that.. I.." Charlie struggled with her words before noticing Arthur walking through the streets. "Oh Arthur!" She slipped passed Liam and rushed over to her brother and the knights that were following him around.
"Running away from your body guard I see" Arthur said looking at Liam with a bit of a glare before smiling at his sister.
"Gotta keep everyone on their toes right?" Charlie laughed nervously before looking around. "What are you doing out and about?"
"I could ask you the same question sister" Arthur smiled as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder before they started walking again.
The twins walked through the lower town side by side as the they talked and laughed together. The knights that were basically their personal body guards were following a few feet behind them. Charlie was surprised at how quickly and easily she was able to get along with Arthur. When the pair seemed to be alone he wasn't anything like he was in the beginning of the show. He was calm and relaxed. It was a great part of him and he made an amazing brother. The calmness was stopped when the twins walked past Merlin. Charlie waved slightly but she was sure that Merlin didn't see it as he was trying to walk past Arthur without him noticing him. However Arthur did and stopped to call out to him.
"Hows your knee walking coming along?" Arthur called out but Merlin didn't stop. "Aw, Don't run away." Which made Merlin stop walking
"Arthur don't please.." Charlie whispered but she was completely ignored by her brother.
"From you?" Merlin spoke up making Charlie groan.
"Ah, thank god. I thought you were deaf as well as dumb." Arthur smirked.
"Arthur stop it." Charlie tried to grab him but she was pulled back by Liam who was laughing at Arthur's teasing.
"Look, I've told you you're an ass. I just didn't realize you were a royal one." Merlin said finally turning around to face Arthur. His eyes glanced over at Charlie who had a firm hand gripping her arm. For some reason the sight made Merlin angry but he ignored the feelings and looked back at Arthur. "Oh what are you going to do? Get your daddy's men to protect you?" Charlie snickered at Merlin's words which made Merlin's smirk widen.
"I could take you apart with one blow" Arthur laughed looking behind him at his knights and his sister who he thought was laughing for the same reason he was. She wasn't.
"I could take you apart with less than that." Merlin said confidently which made Charlie smile. She remembered this fight and always thought it was pretty funny. However she also knew it was best to let it happen because this is the first time Arthur gets some kind of respect for Merlin.
"You sure?" Arthur asked. It was no surprise that Arthur would be confused by Merlin's confident. Arthur was basically twice his size and had been training almost all his life. Merlin dropped the smirk and started taking off his vest.
"Merlin don't do this" Charlie tried to step forward but she was jerked back by Liam making her flinch. Merlin was the only one who noticed seeing as Arthur was to busy laughing at Merlin actually wanting to fight him.
"Here you go big man" Arthur threw a weapon at Merlin but because he was distracted by Charlie he dropped it. Although in the show he drops it as well but this time it was because he had been watching Charlie being man handled. "Come on then" Arthur started swinging his own weapon around. "I warn you. I've been trained to kill since birth" Charlie perked up excited for the next line.
"Wow, and how long have you been training to be a prat?" Merlin asked making Charlie laugh.
"You can't address me like that." Arthur said annoyed at his sister for laughing and annoyed at this peasant for calling him a prat.
"Sorry" Merlin snickered "how long have you been training to be a prat" he bowed slightly and smirked "my Lord?"
Arthur looked at the knights behind him before attacking first. Charlie only saw a few minutes of the fight before she was able to slip away from Liam who was busy cheering on Arthur. The blonde slipped through the crowd and made her way into the castle and to Gaius' home to wait for Merlin to return. She had a plan and she was going to need to speak with Merlin alone. The best time would be when he comes back from the fight and when he's in his bedroom.
