By the time Merlin had returned with the tools that Charlie had asked for, Morgana had left her room and Charlie was alone with the sick druid boy. Charlie was still unsure on rather or not saving him was a good thing. He was only an innocent child at the moment but she knew what he would grow up to do. Would she be able to change the boy enough to stop him from killing Arthur or was this the time to let the boy die to stop any possibility of it happening? Could she let a small child die because of the possibility of the future?
"I got everything." The sound of Merlin's voice made Charlie snap out of her thoughts. She turned away from the sleeping druid and grabbed the bag from the raven haired boy. "Are you sure you know how to do this?" Merlin asked.
"I do a lot of reading." Charlie told her friend as she started shifting through the contents of the bag she was given. She wished she could tell him the truth but she was unsure how he would take it. Instead of telling him the truth she had chosen to, at the right moment, to give him a lie that would make the most since to him and Morgana. She would tell them that she was a seer, explaining her knowledge of future events. It was the only thing she could come up with that they would fully understand.
"Reading?" Merlin questioned as his eyes widened. "Have you ever actually treated someone before?" He looked at Charlie clearly concerned that she wouldn't be able to heal the druid boy. Charlie had to bite her tongue to keep from making a comment. She had treated Sam and Dean many times before but in this world? She hasn't treated anyone.
"...no" Charlie answered after a few moments of silence. She was focusing on treating the druid boy in front of her. The princess knew the chances were slim but she couldn't let Mordred die because she was worried about the future. He was innocent right now and hopefully if she did right by him and Morgana then the future she feared would never happen. Charlie stole a glance over to Merlin and saw he was looking between her and Mordred, clearly concerned and unsure of her ability to heal him. "Merlin I can't focus with you breathing down my neck, doubting me!" Charlie snapped at the man standing behind her. Merlin looked apologetic as he took a step back and sent her a weak smile.
"I'm sorry I just.." Merlin started as he looked to the druid boy with an unsure look. Charlie looked at Merlin before turning back to Mordred.
"Merlin I know why you are concerned," Charlie spoke as she worked on treating the druid boy. "You see yourself in him and don't believe he should die just because of who he is." She stopped and took a glance over to him to see she was right. She turned back Mordred before speaking. "My father has his reasons to fear magic but he has taken his fear to far. Magic in the right hands can do wonderful things." The blonde felt two pairs of eyes on her. Merlin had heard her talk about her views on magic before but it always amazed him every time. Mordred had opened his eyes slowly and watched and listened to Charlie. "Magic can heal, it can protect but in the wrong hands it can harm or even kill people. The ones who use magic that way are the ones who should be feared. Not the ones who are born with the gifted of magic or those who use it for good." Charlie spoke softly as she kept her eyes on the druid boy. Mordred was still watching her closely. "I won't let my father kill an innocent child just because he is a druid" she smiled at Mordred before turning to Merlin. The young warlock had a look in his eyes that she didn't understand. "I won't let him find out about you either Merlin. I can't lose you.."
