After Charlie skimmed the pages of her supposed life in Wonderland and eating at Granny's, the ginger returned back to Jefferson's home in the woods. He and Grace were meant to spend some time alone together and she didn't mind giving them space seeing as they had spent more then 28 years apart. She planned on coming home to get a sketch book that Jefferson had let her use and then head back into town.
"Alice!" Jefferson called as he caught sight of his sweet Alice walking up the steps from the living room. Grace had gone upstairs to unpack as the two of them had finally gotten the things from Paige's parents place. "Where are you going in such a hurry?" He asked walking over to the stairs.
"Oh I wanted to give you and Grace a day alone. You two deserve it" Charlie smiled softly as she walked down a few steps to meet him at the bottom of the stairs.
"It's not just Grace and I anymore. You know that right?" Jefferson said putting a hand on top of Charlie's that was resting on the banister. Charlie looked at their hands and smiled softly before looking back at Jefferson.
"I know" Charlie said looking into his eyes with a soft smile. "I love Grace as if she.." Charlie paused looking down thinking she over stepped.
"As if she was your own daughter?" Jefferson completed her thought with a slight teasing tone in his voice. Charlie picked her head up to see a slight smirk on his lips. "I'm sure she sees you as a mother Alice. She needs one and you my sweet sweet Alice" Jefferson put a hand on her cheek. Their foreheads touched "You would make the perfect mother" he said softly before kissing Charlie's lips.
"Get in there and be quiet for once in your life!" A knight threw a ginger woman into a room filled with fabric and slammed the door shut behind him.
"Hey you could be more gentle with a woman!!" The ginger woman shouted as she kicked the door roughly then yelped "Jeez the queen of hearts has hefty doors" the ginger spoke softly to herself. The woman was wearing a beautiful blue dress strangely as she had been basically a prisoner since she was a child. The Queen of Hearts seemed to have a slight soft spot for Alice. Alice turned around and saw a man at a table who seemed very desperate about making whatever it was that he was trying to make. "Excuse me. What is it that you are doing?"
"Making a hat" The man told her without even looking up.
"A hat for what? You made plenty of fine hats what is wrong with those?" Alice asked which caused the man to look up. He paused as he took in her looks and she paused taking in the scar on his neck.
"They don't work. I need one that makes a portal to go home" He told her.
"Getting home? What did you leave behind?" Alice knew plenty about wanting to get home. She wanted to find home and she knew that wonderland wasn't it.
"My daughter, Grace" He spoke. "My name is Jefferson"
"My name is Alice" Alice smiled "and I'm going to help you get home to your daughter"
Charlie pulled away from the kiss surprised at the sudden 'memory'. Maybe she could be happy here. Maybe this was her last life.
"I've been wanting to do that since you found me" Jefferson laughed softly "but with Grace and everything it hasn't been possible until now"
"I understand" Charlie smiled before hugging him tightly.
"Papa I'm finished with.." Grace came down the steps and stopped when she saw the two of them hugging. "Oh sorry I didn't mean to interrupt" she smiled widely.
"It's okay Grace" Jefferson smiled as he pulled away from Charlie and looked up at his daughter.
"What do you guys say to going to get some ice cream?" Charlie wiggled her eyebrows at the two of them which earned a giggle from Grace and a laugh from Jefferson.
"Let's go" Jefferson smirked as he grabbed his jacket. Charlie held out her hand for Grace before leaving the house together.
