River
I sit down on a bench closest to the train watching parents and students saying their goodbyes, I knew the train was leaving soon but my father had told me to wait to get on the train because he wanted to ride on the train as well. He makes it sound like he's doing it because he cares and because it's my first day but it's really because he has no trust for me. I knew I had never done anything for him to not trust me but it was really just the way he was.
As the train made the noise indicating it was leaving in a minute or two I decided not to wait any longer. I stuffed my trunk into the train and stepped on the steps holding onto the silver railing. The train was filled with talking and laughs among the students waiting to finally go to Hogwarts.
I walked down the train looking for a compartment to sit in, one of the compartments held Malfoy and his annoying friends Crabbe and Goyle. Malfoy glares at me and motions me to keep moving. I glare back at him and continue walking down the train. Even though I've never been to hogwarts yet I was introduced to Malfoy and his family at a very young age.
My dad and his parents would always do some type of 'work' together causing me and Malfoy stuck in his bedroom for hours at a time not even knowing what they were doing. They always hid it from me even though Draco knew he never told me under my fathers wishes. I will admit we got along together just fine when we were children, but something happened between Severus and Malfoy's parents that caused them to hate each other, I guess it rubbed off on Malfoy and he completely dropped me. My dad has always refused to tell me what Malfoy and his parents got into, all I have been told almost my entire life was to stay away from ALL Malfoy's.
At the end of the train was a guy with dark skin and Black hair, he was sitting with another man who had brown hair with weird teeth if that makes sense. They both stare up at me, The one with Black hair waved me over, thank God. Sitting alone on my first day would be embarrassing.
I make my way over to him gratefully.
He motions his head towards the seat across from them so i sit down. " I noticed you staring," I tighten my jaw, this was already not going well "Are you new here? I don't think i've seen you around?" A smirk grows on his face.
" Yeah, i just moved here from durmstrang." I replied. The boy beside him scoffs causing us both turn to him.
" This is Marcus Flint, he's a bitch." Marcus scrunches up his eye brows and turns to look at Blaise once again. " I'm River.... Snape" They both almost snap their necks to look at me, Marcus looks me up and down before laughing.
" There's no way YOU'RE a Snape" he manages to say through his laughs holding his stomach. Blaise nudges him to tell him to shut up. He stops laughing slowly and looks down at me again, " I mean I'm just saying! You look to nice. Snape gave me a detention almost every day last year, he did not produce a girl named River." Blaise glares at him.
" What he's trying to say is, you don't seem much like your father, that's definitely not a bad thing" Blaise says putting his elbows on the table leaning forward towards me.
Marcus scoffs " It is if she's going to get into Slytherin, I mean let's be honest if she doesn't get into Slytherin her dad will murder her, but if she does she'll get eaten alive by the people in this house. You call me a dick but everyone in Slytherin is a dick when they have to be."
" Do you ever brush your teeth?" I snap interrupting him. He looks over at me with his eyebrows scrunched up. " I mean- truly, do you ever brush them?" Blaise puts his hand over his mouth to keep him from laughing.
" what the fuck? I will tell your father you little b-" I cut him off.
"Do you really think my father of all people would care? Has bigger problems than his daughter sticking up for herself."
