Chapter 5

River

At around 6pm i was nervously waiting for Lucius and Severus to come meet me at the front of the castle, he had told me this was the place i needed to wait for them today but i haven't seen them for a good 10 minutes.

" River?" I jump slightly at the mans voice, i turn around to see Ron and Hermione closely behind me. " What are you doing out here? It's dinner time." He asks confused. Hermione had her arms crossed standing directly beside him, i knew she was most likely still mad about the whole quidditch game but that wasn't until tomorrow so she had no reason to get all upset so soon.

" Oh- i'm just waiting for... Draco, he is helping me write that 5 page essay in Snape's class" I was surprised on how quickly i came up with that excuse, usually i hesitate and blow my cover in the first 5 seconds of the conversation.

" I hate Snape's class, no offense but he gives so many essays." He says scrunching up his eyes brows, i was scared Lucius and Severus would show up while they were their and i knew i had to get them to leave as soon as possible, it was almost 6:30 and i can't be seen leaving with them.

" Hey dinners almost over right? You two should probably finish eating" I say looking around nervously, Ron looks at Hermione and raises his eye brow before looking back at me.

" We already ate...whats wrong-" He looked behind me with a scared look on his face, i turn around to see Lucius and Severus walking towards me at a fast pace. " We're going to go... See ya River." They run back inside as fast as possible embarrassing themselves and me.

" Let's go, we're already behind schedule" Lucius says as they reach me. I look behind me once more to make sure Ron and Hermione wouldn't see me then grabbed Severus wrist. We all three disapparate with a loud crack. I landed harshly on the ground, i would have fallen if Severus hadn't grabbed my wrist and pulled me towards the door quickly. I looked up to see the huge Manor, it looked old and there were cracks on the side of it. I didn't even have time to think before i was already being pulled into the house.

     A women was with black and blonde hair was standing close by the door, she gave me a welcoming smile and shook my hand " You must be River Snape, nice to meet you." I returned her smile " Im Narcissa Malfoy, Draco's mother. I've heard a lot about you." I raise an eye brow at Severus then turn back to her, so much had just happened in under 10 minutes i couldn't even think straight.

     " Oh i'm sure you have." I say with a smile still on
my face, considering i was about to talk to Voldemort i'd say i was doing pretty good.

     " Well, The dark lord is getting impatient, I will lead you to his office." She says looking up at Lucius then back down at me. I let go of Severus wrist that i hadn't even realized i was still holding, she started towards a white door so i followed closely behind her. I felt Severus's eyes on my back until she opened the door and let me in. It revealed a very large Parlor, it was pretty empty with not much furniture in it. It didn't take long before she opened another door and lead me into a long hallway. she opened the second door and motioned for me to go in, I hesitated before stepping inside nervously. My heart was pounding like it could explode any minute as she closed the door behind me. I wanted to simply disappear and never show my face anywhere ever again after this.

    My shaky hands would give me away as terrified to anyone around but so far i hadn't seen anyone in this room, the lights were very dimmed and it was just a long dinning table in the middle of the room. For a moment i thought she led me into the wrong room until i heard movement to the left of me, i quickly turned my head to see a large snake coming towards me. I back up into the dinning table and flinched as it came closer, fear filled me as it slithered closer and closer by the second.
