Chapter 20

     River

The rest of that day was pretty normal, i was given a few pity looks but other than that people seemed to steer out of my way which i was grateful for.

Draco forced me to go to literally every meal which irritated me because i just wanted to leave my last class and sleep but he forced me to dinner. He was insisting i needed to eat more to make up for not eating for two days but I don't know if that's really how it works.

" I hate your guts." I heard from behind me as Draco pulled me into the great hall.

I turned around to see Adrian and Miles walking in behind us, i swear they fought like siblings.

" Eat a dick." Miles snapped back.

I glared at them both making them snap their mouths closed quickly before i could say anything bitchy.

We walked over to Slytherin table and sat down in our usual spots, it was unusually cold in the great hall today, i didn't quite know why but it was unbearable considering these leggings are super thin.

" Hi dray!" Me and Draco both turned our heads to see a short girl with a raven claw pin on walking towards us. She had a flirty smile on so i automatically knew what she was trying to do. She looked back at her friends and giggled before turning back to us. " I was wondering..." She started " Would you like to join me on a date?"

Anger filled me, I was sitting right here, did she have no respect for anyone?

Draco laid his hand on my upper thigh, she looked down at his hand and an expression of realization came over her. " Aren't you a second year?" he asked with attitude. She hesitated before nodding slowly, "You're 13, go ruin relationships with guys your own age." He snapped before turning away from her his hand still placed on my thigh.

I could hear her scoff but she walked away anyways, I smiled to myself and looked down at my bowl.

Draco had put some random soup in it, I guessed it was tomato soup by the looks of it but i couldn't be sure.

In that moment a few owls flew into the room, Unexpectedly one flew over mine and Draco's head landing a letter in front of him.

He stared down at it confused, Looking over his shoulder i could see it was addressed to me and him oddly enough.

He picked it up and ripped it open aggressively, he unfolded it to reveal Lucius's messy handwriting.

I wasn't close enough to read what it said since he wrote small but Draco's flawed expression told me it couldn't be good.

He handed me the paper once he finished reading, the way he looked at me made me nervous to even know what Lucius had to tell us.

Dear Draco and River,

Narcissa and I have been informed by the dark lord that there will be another meeting tonight. You two will be coming home as quick as possible to attend it, i don't know when you will be getting this but you have to hurry and get home, the dark lord has been seeming on edge lately and more weak than ever obviously it's making him angry, he will not hesitate to injure either of you and will not wait for you to get home. Pack your things, now.

I looked over at Draco confused, " Why has he become more weak?" i asked quietly.

Draco looked around to make sure no one was listening and leaned into me, " Potter, he..." he paused for a moment, " Potter left i think 2 days ago on the mission Severus was talking about in the last death eater meeting." I stared at him confused, he sighed slightly irritated. " He's destroying Voldemort's horcruxes." He spoke quieter than he had before.
