It only took Kavora and I 30 minutes to split up and hunt down 2 buck, 3 rabbits, 2 squirrels, and 1 beaver. I still don't know how Kavora managed to find a beaver and I hope it gives us good meat. I had to ride Kavora with her dragging a buck as I held everything else. Seems fair right? When we got back to our little makeshift camp there was a good fire going, a very large stack of wood, Nicki made her own freshwater pond behind the fire, and Joey and Ben were sorting medicine. Sydney, Anna, and Nicki were cuddled by the fire sitting on a log. Leo was sitting on a log opposite from the girls alone. Hey hadn't noticed us yet so we decided to scare the girls' brains out. The two of us were sneaking up behind the girls without making a sound when Leo glanced up and us and grinned. He knew what we were doing, so he just dropped is gaze and threw on a poker face. No one else noticed. 'Okay in three...two...ONE!' I commanded in my head. Kavora leaped through the air landing right in front of the girls spinning in mid air to face them. Kavora roared and the girls screamed bloody murder. Kavora roared one last time and I let out a battle cry, "AHHHH!!!" The girls were still screaming, and I realized that I scared Ben and Joey too causing them to scream. Leo was laughing him head off,and I joined him rolling on the ground. Anna was the first on her feet followed by Sydney then Nicki. Kavora was purring loudly, proud of her work. Leo and I were still rolling around laughing when I opened my eyes to see Nicki's whole makeshift pond was above my head. "Uh-oh," I mumbled and stopped laughing immediately. I glanced over at Nicki with anger in her eyes, she met mine and I gave her a smirk. Daring her to do it. She shrugged and let it all go. SPLASH! I faced the water head on, squeezing my eyes closed before the water hit me, bracing myself to get drenched with water. There was a lot more than I expected, but I didn't care. This might be the last fun we have together for a long time. Once the water stopped I realized everyone was cheering because I deserved to have this happen, and I did and everyone loved revenge. We all burst into laughter when I hugged Kavora and she hissed in annoyance, and stalked off towards the fire to dry off. I walked over to the spot where we had dropped the prey, and Leo Ben and I carried back all of the prey. "How did you get so much?" Ben asked in disbelief. "Dude, you should see her at camp," Leo chuckled. I smirked. I am a good hunter aren't I. "Come on, let's skin these bad boys!" I siad cheerfully. Ben and Leo dropped the game they were carrying and Leo spoke for the both of them, "Um, how about YOU skin those bad boys?" I chuckled and shrugged, "Fine.....wimps." Leo ignored the last part. But Ben opened his mouth and was about to argue when Leo whispered something in his ear. He closed his mouth and followed Leo over to the others. Leo laid up against Kavora's stomach and watched the fire. I had everything slimed and cleaned in a good 20 minutes. I was cooking the two bucks and saving everything else in plastic bags. As I was packing the other meats away in Nicki's backpack, Anna put a hand on my shoulder and told me the food was done cooking. I nodded and got up and grabbed the ferns we decided could work a plates for now. "Wow this is really good!" Anna said. Nicki stole a bit from her "leaf" receiving a death glare from Anna. We all laughed and continued eating. After I served the last bit of meat to Ben, I picked up my own bit of food and sat down next to Leo with (now sleeping) Kavora. We ate in comfortable silence as we ate and once we had all finished we huddled around the fire and decided to tell ghost stories. Joey wanted to go first, "Okay, so legend says that there once was a giant unicorn-" "Joey you suck! That's not even a scary story, if it has unicorns in it its not even close!" Leo yelled at him smiling. "Well if you know so much about them you start then!" Joey replied. But before Leo could answer I cut in, "I have one." Everyone's eyes were on me, and Leo and Joey nodded letting me go on. "And this isn't a legend, this is true. A long time ago in ancient times there was a young man who was a cruel man. He didn't care about the lives of others. The people feared him, if there was one slight move of the hand that he didn't want. He would take you to the center of the town for everyone to see, and cut it off. If he didn't like the hand, he would slowly cut around your wrist. He would go over that small slice over and over until he got deep into your arm. Once he hit bone he would just let it dangle there as the blood would spill out. After minutes of pain, screaming, blood pooling, and crowds of people forming, he would raise you arm in the air snatch your fingers and snap off your hand. Breaking the bone like a twig. He would do this at least twice a week. But one day he found something on the side of a mountain. Something that wasn't even close to normal. A giant cave, the opening was the size of three schools. When this cruel man walked up to the opening he noticed there was lots and lots of burnt marks on the walls of the caves. So he decided to see what was in this cave. As he walked the light was slowly turning into shadows. There was a hot breeze coming from inside the cave. 'Hello?' He called, but no one answered. He walked further into the cave, 'Hello?!' He called again. This time a strong, hot breeze answered. And then noise that sounded like the Earth was shaking. 'Hello?' He said in a scared and shaky voice. He heard the noise and the ground under his feet shook. He started running, running out of that cave so fast that he was just a blur to the human eye. An ear piercing roar rang through the air. A bright light erupted in the cave. Growing stronger and stronger. Then all the sudden flames burst out into the open air licking the side of the mountain and the trees around it. Destroying everything. And out of the sizzling flames flew out an enormous beast. One that anyone would know the name of. Dragon. The dragon soared through the air with terrifying speed, burning everything in its path. Families screaming in terror and agony. Their flesh being burned from the flame. This day was the day of death and terror. No one survived, and it was all because of one person calling out into a cave to wake the flesh burning dragon." Once I had finished the story everyone's eyes were glazed over with terror. Leo draped an arm over my shoulders and pulled me close to him. "Hannah? How did you know all of that in such...detail...," Sydney's voice trailed off, shaking a bit. "I have no idea. I guess I just knew," I said staring at nothing, "it was as if it was planted into my memory." After I finished Kavora shifted her weight, causing Leo and I to close the space between us. My face burned bright red and I tried to hide it by staring at my feet. "Well, why don't we all get some sleep and try to forget about what Hannah just told us," Leo suggested, and we all nodded. "Hannah? Was that story true, like the part were the guy wakes up the dragon by just saying hello? If so what are you going to do when you have to kill the thing," Nicki asked as she laid down. I froze. What was I going to do how will I kill this dragon if it wakes up when someone just says hello. "Nicki she'll do fine, and we'll be there to help her," Leo reassures her rubbing my shoulder. Soon we all drift off into sleep after about 5 minutes of tense silence.
