Chapter 9: Leaving it all behind part 2

I was gazing at bunker 9 and then I heard a surprised voice sound from inside, "Hannah? Wha-what are you doing here? How did you find this place?" The voice came from Leo who had a wrench in hand and was covered in grease and soot. I got lost in his eyes that instead of angry and ablaze they were calm, playful and full of life. This was the Leo we all knew before the hellhounds and I was happy to see him back. I ran up to him and wrapped my arms around him in squeezed him as tight as I could in a large bear hug. And he hugged me back hard. "Joey why aren't you with the other Apollo kids eating dinner? and why are you with Leo in bunker 9? And-" She was cut off by Joey who embraced her in a hug. Everyone in bunker 9 was hugging and I heard footsteps behind me. I ruined the moment by swinging around bow in hand pointed at Nicki's nose. She put her hands in the air as if to show surrender as she eyed the point of my arrow merely inches from her. I lowered my weapon a little ticked off, "What are you doing here?" I growled at Nicki, Percy, and Annabeth. All three of them lowered their hands and Nicki told me, "Well, I'm going with you guys and I actually don't know why Percy and Annabeth are here." We all turned to face Percy and Annabeth waiting for an explanation. It took a few moments to come, but then Percy spoke up, "we came to give you five a few things before you left that would help on your quest. Leo for you," He pulled out a small bag of small, red spheres. There were at least 12 of them. Leo raised an eyebrow and Percy explained, "Cherry bombs. They may look small but they pack a mean punch. Those a extremely useful when you are dealing with large monsters. All you need to do is light a small match throw it, run and duck for cover. Keep them safe you will need them. Syd, for you I have this," He hands her a small wrench and she eyes him, "This is a wrench." He grinned at her and she just repeated herself a few times before she drifted off to her own thoughts. She had a look on her face like she was concentrating really hard, "This wrench changes into any tool I need to repair something or make something!" Annabeth giggled as if it was the easiest riddle in the world and that she knew that way before Sydney. Percy elbowed her and said, "Bingo! That is exactly what it does. Now, you can use this on whatever you want and it works at lightning speed try It out on Festus." she walked over the the golden dragon head no the table and after a few moments I ciuldnt see her hands anymore. "Joey for you I have a new bow and arrow." Percy held out a beautiful golden bow with a Greek style English carved in it. It read JΩΣΨ SΩΠ ΩҒ ΔPΩLLΩ. His jaw dropped open when he read the letters. He took the bow in his hands and savored it. He had a look in his eyes that I could tell hew I'll be wanting to spar with me on our quest. He met eyes and I mentally told him "it's on." "And last but not least Hannah, I have something. Very special for you Hermes came to me this morning and told me to give you this," he handed me a package and I knelt down and began to tear open the box. I could feel everyone's eyes on me. I flipped the flaps to reveal a small albino tiger. The little cub had Crystal blue eyes, snow white fur, and her stripes or black as night. No one said a word until Nicki broke the silence, "Wait there's a note at the bottom of the box." I reached down and picked up the note. I was written in silver ink and delicate hand writing. "My dear Hannah, this little tiger's name is Kavora. She has been sent to love and protect you. She will guild you through your quest and for the rest of your life. She WILL travel anywhere with you. An if you leave her behind at Camp Half-blood she will find a way to follow you and get to you. She will always be there for you. Love your mother Artemis," I read the note out loud. Everyone was staring at me in awe. They all got tools to help them on the quest from Percy. And I got a new companion tiger from my mother. Percy told us that he already gave Nicki her gift from him and with one last quick hug the five of us said our goodbyes to Annabeth and Percy. Then we grabbed our backpacks and were on our way to half-blood hill. Once I was at the top of half-blood hill I looked back on Camp Half-blood. I was going to miss this place it was the only place I belonged. I whispered goodbye and ran down the other side of the hill to the rest of my friends. And then I realized the journey was only just beginning.
