I've been sitting in my cabin just staring at my packed suitcase on the floor. It feels like none of this even happened; as if it was only just from a dream. But it wasn't. I almost died more times than I could count. None of those times compared to when I fell into Tartarus, but the the gods decided to let me live. The only things that seem unreal is that both of my brothers are sons of different goddesses. Also the fact that my mother was a maiden goddess, and I wasn't supposed to be born. I got so much closer to my friends, and my brother than I'd ever imagine. The true event that made Sydney, Leo, Nicki, Anna, Ben, Joey and I feel like a true family. I swear every time I see them training I want to go all mother bear like and kill the other person. Of course the seven of us always win in every training session, but I can't help but worry for them. I could have lost them, when I fell into Tartarus, to Brian. But I did loose one. She wasn't just a friend, she was a companion. Kavora was the most amazing thing that ever happened in my life. I only wish that I could see her one more time to tell her that. I know, I know everyone says that when someone close to them dies in stories, but you don't know what its like to loose someone close to you. Its hard. I always just think random things that I would have said to her thinking that she's going to respond, but I know she can't. "Hey, you ready?" Jack interrupted the rest of my thoughts. "Yeah, yeah, are we leaving now?" I asked, my voice thick with sadness. Jack, Sydney, and I are all going to live at my house for the winter. My parents wanted Jack and I to come home for school. They also said that Sydney's parents have agreed to let her live with us because of the whole demigod being chased down by monsters thing. "Hey, Hannah!" Sydney exclaimed excitedly. "Hi! Are you ready to go?" I asked, faking enthusiasm. Her eyes shown sympathy, but she still smiled. "Are you seriously thinking that we'd let you guys leave without saying goodbye?!" I heard Anna yell at us. The next moment Sydney and I were wrapped in a giant, bone crushing, bear hug by Anna. I laughed and patted her back telling her to let go. Once she did I was engulfed into another hug by Ben and Joey. I hugged them back mumbling goodbye into their shoulders. I then turned to Nicki and hugged her tight. "I'm gonna miss you," I mumbled into her ear. She nodded, on the verge of tears. She was planning on staying year round this year. I rubbed her shoulder and whispered, "Hey, we're gonna be back next year! Don't worry, okay? No one worry." I saw Leo walking up a few yards away. I slipped away unnoticed as everyone else was still saying goodbye. I ran over to him. I wrapped my arms around his neck when he wasn't looking, catching him off guard. "Hi there," he chuckled, wrapping one of his arms around my waist. I noticed he had a duffle bag in the other. He's leaving camp for the winter too? I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. Leo noticed and exclaimed, "Oh yeah! I completely forgot you don't know." He chuckled, but didn't explain anything. I raised an eyebrow and he face palmed. "Right. I'm living at your house for the year!" He said happily. I cheered and did a little happy dance. He was laughing like crazy now, so much that he had tears in his eyes. I cheered one last time before I cupped his cheeks, and kissed him for a brief moment before running back to my group of friends. I still had a huge smile on my face and I hugged everyone one last time. "Hannah! Are you coming?" Sydney called from my mom's white suburban. I nodded once then looked back at the valley I call my second home. My safe haven. I'll be back. And with that I ran down the hill to the car. "BYE EVERYONE!" The four of us yelled, hanging out the windows and waving as we drove away, my mom laughing in the background. "So...how was your summer?" my mom asked after about five minutes of comfortable silence. I grinned and shared a look with Leo and Sydney before I finally said, "Eventful."
