Chapter 11: Stuck at school.

I didn't know how long we have been running but I let Kavora out of my bag because she kept squirming and clawing at my back. And she seemed to get heavier or the time we began running. We did saw a few people walk by us on the side walk. I thought they were going to scream or something because of Kavora but no one seemed to care. Leo told me they probably thought that she was a dog or something because of the mist. And I just shrugged. All I cared about was that she was going to be safe and we get somewhere safe. "What about there?" Joey asked nodding towards a school. I looked around at everyone and they nodded. "Sure, I mean who would be at a school at this time? C'mon." Sydney and I lead everyone towards the towards the front door. Yeah, yeah I know not the best strategy I've ever had, but we needed to get somewhere safe for a while. I could tell everybody was spectacle but I just told them, "Well, if anyone has a better way to get in then by all means TELL ME!" I was glaring at everyone of them. They all looked frightened and shook their heads quickly. "Okay that's what I thought," I growled and tugged at the door and it wouldn't budge. I got pissed off and punched the glass part of the door. It shattered. Both boy's face paled as I punched the door. Sydney on the other hand just looked irritated. She walked over to the door next to the shattered one and opened it easily. She gave me a look that I read immediately, was that really necessary? I made a face back at her as angry as ever, yes. Leo and Joey hulled Nicki through the door as Sydney held it open. As Leo walked by, with Nicki's limp arm slung over his shoulder, he gave me a worried glance. I turned away and stared at my feet. I felt a familiar hand on my shoulder. I looked up to see Sydney standing in front of me. She lead me inside and into a classroom where the others where. This classroom seemed to be a 1st grade room. I could tell by the way the artwork that was hanging from a clothesline, and the books all around stacked on the shelves. Dr. Seuss books like The Lorax, Sam I Am and One Fish 2 Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. "Hey should we make a fire?" Joey asked in a meaningful way trying to get rid of the depressing mood. I rolled my eyes and told him sarcastically, "Yeah, we should just set a fire the middle of a class room. Way to be respectful to our surroundings Joey." I heard Leo and Sydney giggle a little before receiving glares from Joey. He stormed out of the room and I called after him, "Hey, c'mon Joey that was funny, I was just messing with you!" Sydney looked at me with an annoyed look on her face. "What?" I shrugged and she ran after him through the halls. Now it was just Leo, Nicki, and I. it had been a while since Leo and I were really alone with no one in sight or listening to our conversations. "So...," Leo tried to start a conversation. Instead of responding I stood up and walked across the room to him. He was sitting with his back against the wall and he watched me as I walked over. I settled up next to him and laid my head on his shoulder, he wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer. "Your hand," he said in a worried way as he took my hand in his. I just realized that my knuckles where cut open and there was dry blood all over them. "Oh, wow I didn't even know that happened," I told him as I chuckled a little. He looked me in the eye and laughed, "Wait, are you saying that smashing that door didn't even faze you?" I shook my head with a giant smile stretched across my face. He looked to the opposite side of the room and grins, "You're crazy, did you know that?" I laughed. I opened my mouth to say something when Sydney and Joey walked in the room, "Hey I found Joey and something's that we can burn without anyone caring." Sydney eyed Leo and I as the two of them walked in. "Really? Every time Hannah and I are just trying to have a simple conversation someone interrupts," Leo said in a annoyed and happy way as he stood up. "Well I'm terribly sorry we... interrupted," she said in a sarcastic way. I walked up to her and punched her in the arm in a playful way as a hint for her to shut up. After we made the fire out of stacks of loose leaf paper we huddled around and I just stared into the fire as Joey tended to Nicki and Sydney played the harmonica. Apparently Joey taught her how to back at camp. S u was gazing into the fire I hear something. It sounded a little like a guitar. "Shh!" I hushed Sydney who immediately stopped normally she would argue with me, but this time sheet she saw the look on my face and stopped. I stood up along with Sydney and Leo. I could tell that Joey was going to stay back and make sure that Nicki stays out of trouble. The three of us walk silently out the door and down the hallway. We reach what seemed to be a 8th grade classroom and I stopped. Sydney and Leo stopped as well. Drawing our weapons. I inched towards the door and crane my neck to see what was inside. But right as I was about to do so the guitar playing started. It was really good. But then a girl started singing. Man she was amazing. Her words seemed to draw me in and hypnotized me. I focused on why I was here. But then I heard the song.

CRASH!! The girl and the music stopped. I glared down at Sydney who was lying on the floor with your hammer a foot away from her on the ground. I walked into the room and saw that there was a boy about my age maybe a year older with short dirty blond hair and some freckles. And there was a beautiful girl my age with long blond hair in a ponytail. They were sitting in the middle of the room on stools behind a fire. I was the first to speak, "Um, hi I'm Hannah and this is Leo and Sydney. Sorry for disturbing you but we heard a noise and thought you were something else." I gave them a friendly smile and the boy returned it but the girl was eying my weapon. I realized this and rubbed my wolf necklace and my bow vanished in thin air. Leo disposed of his hammer in his belt and Sydney's disappeared into her bracelet. The pair in front of us stared at us with their mouths wide open. "How the crap did you do that?" the boy asked us. "Yeah, who did you guys say you were again?" the girl questioned us. " Leo and Sydney glanced at each other mischievously. Great, I thought, what are they thinking about? "Are you telling me you saw our weapons?" Leo spoke with a grin on his face never taking his eyes off the girl. I could feel anger and jealousy coursing through my veins. And I could feel my face get beet red. The pair nodded as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Okay, you two are half bloods then. Come with us we have a few other people waiting for us," Sydney told the two and gestured for them to follow. Leo led the way while talking to the two as Sydney and I brought up the rear. We kept a good enough distance from the three so they wouldn't hear our conversation. "Hannah, what the crap is wrong with you?" Sydney said in a sympathetic, worried, and surprised voice. "Nothing," I growled through my teeth. "Wow, you're doing a great job hiding the way you feel. C'mon tell Syd what's wrong," she said that as if she was talking to a four year old. I wanted her to shut up so I told her, "Its the way Leo is looking at that girl. He doesn't even know her name and he still has that look in his eye that he loves her with all his heart. It just...ugh you wouldn't understand, you have a great boyfriend." I shook my head and looked at my shoes. "You're right I wouldn't understand because I do have a great boyfriend but I can help you through it. Nicki and I both. Okay?" she hangs her head so she can see my face. I nod but I know, and I can tell she does too, that nothing they say will ever make me less angry and jealous. Once we get back to the classroom we find Nicki and Joey playing with Kavora and the girl and boy freeze when they see my young albino tiger.
