3rd pov
Since Siyeon refused to go home, the others decided to take turns and make sure she was never alone for the rest of the day. At least one person was with her during every period? They couldn't risk her running into Dongmin on her own.
In the meantime Minji had found one of Dongmin's friends, standing in a group of people. She walked up to them and tapped his shoulder lightly, urging him to look back at her.
"Have you seen Dongmin?"
He looked a little confused but still answered her question.
"Yeah, he got into a fight earlier. He looked pretty bad and his in the nurse office now."
She found the slightert bit of comfort in knowing that Bora had managed to hurt him. She walked to the infirmary, trying her best to stay calm. She opened the door and saw him sitting on one of the beds, with a bandage around his head. She closed the door and stood at the end of his bed.
"Don't even start, I know what I did was wrong."
"Glad you know, but what are you going to do about it?" Minji replied, a little surprised.
"How the hell would I know."
"Break up with her." Minji's voice was stern and serious.
He had avoided her eyes up until now, her look was almost intimidating.
"What..."
"Come on, you know she's in love with someone else. Spare the both of you the trouble of keeping this up and let her be happy."
"What if I don't want to break up with her"
"Do you really have a choice?"
He knew she was right, he knew that she liked Bora. But that didn't mean he stopped liking her, even if said some pretty bad things to her, he didn't mean it. He let out a sigh and turned his gaze back to Minji.
"Fine, I'll do it later today."
"Thank you."
That's all she said before leaving him in the room, alone once again.
*later that day*
The girls had manage to keep Siyeon and Dongmin from running into each other for the entire day. Siyeon was going to go home with Bora, in case he went to her house. The bell rang, indicating that school was done for today.
"Sua" Siyeon spoke softly.
"Yeah?"
"I'm going to break up with him...in person"
"WHAT??! WHAT IF HE ATTACKS U AGAIN??"
"I know...but I have to do this. I want to make it officially over."
"I'm going with you"
She held Bora's hands. She spoke slow and stern, not letting anything up for debate.
"I have to do this on my own."
Bora wanted to stop her, but she knew that it had no use. Siyeon had made up her mind and she had to respect that decision. She gave a small nod and hugged Siyeon. The hug was warm, comforting, making Siyeon feel like she would be ok. As she let go of Bora, she felt the last of her worries go away.
"I'll come to your house after ok."
"Okay"
Bora turned around and started walking home. She would sit down on the porch and wait there for Siyeon. No matter how long that would take. Siyeon turned around as well and started to head to the sports fields. She knew that Dongmin had soccer training today and she hoped she would find him there. As she neared, she saw a group of his friends at the edge of the field. One of them said something to the others and they all turned their heads in her direction.
"Do you guys know where Dongmin is?" She asked, trying her best to compose the tremble in her voice.
"He's still in the locker room, he's alone."
She nodded but noticed that one of them had a weird look on his face.
"Is something wrong?"
The guy seemed to look for the right words to ask the question.
"Is he the one who did that do you?"
She had almost forgotten that she still looked all bruised from the fight. She knew it wouldn't heal for a while. She still needed to find a way to cover it up so her parents wouldn't notice and ask questions.
"Yeah...he did."
Some of the guys eyes widened, while other just looked at her with sympathy in their eyes. They might have been Dongmin's friends, but they didn't accept his behavior either. Siyeon continued her way and walked into the locker room. She knocked in the door, not sure of what to do.
"Yeah I'm almost done, I'll be there in a minute."
"We need to talk."
The door suddenly opened. She was right in front of him now.
"Siyeon? What are you doing here?"
"Like I said, we need to talk"
She walked passed him and sat on one of the benches inside. He closed the door behind him and went to stand against the lockers in front of her.
"I-"
"Wait, let me go first."
Siyeon nodded. He looked at her neck, feeling the guilt rise in his chest. It almost felt suffocating.
"I'm sorry for this morning. Like, deeply sorry. I shouldn't have lashed out at you like that. I had no right to." He took a deep breath. "But truth be told, I was jealous."
"Jealous?"
"Yeah, I know you like Sua."
Siyeon's eyebrows arched.
"I what now?"
"Siyeon, don't tell me you're surprised by me telling you this. You were never the subtle type. I guess I just got jealous by seeing the two of you, knowing that we never had anything like that. We were always more like friends than lovers, even if we tried to be more. And I guess I was sad that we never became more."
Siyeon nodded, she understood what he meant.
"At least do me one favor tho. Date her. It would make the both of you happy. And know that I didn't mean anything I said this morning."
Siyeon didn't know if she was hearing everything right. This was the most emotional Dongmin had ever been towards her.
"If you want to, I hope we can still be friends."
"I would like to try that yeah."
After all, she still cared about him. Just not in a special way like with Bora. It felt like her head was spinning. Bora... Did she really like bora? Part of her told her it was wrong, that she shouldn't feel like that. But she felt drawn to bora, drawn in a way she couldn't explain. The latter was starting overthrow her other thoughts. God, she didn't want anything else than to hold her without having to think about it. Maybe Dongmin was right. Maybe she just had to take a leap of faith.
"Dongmin, you ready? Training starts soon."
"I'm coming."
He turned back to Siyeon. They gave each other a small nod and walked out.
