Tubbo is scared of thunder because it reminds him of fireworks, and a past time that isn't so pleasant. luckily, he has Ranboo to comfort him during the storm.

Additionally, Tubbo may or may not come to realize that maybe physical contact.. isnt so bad after all.

At the first pitter-pattering of rain against glass pane windows, Tubbo hoped to the gods above another bad storm wasn't coming. He liked the rain, he liked the chilly atmosphere that came with it and the feeling of running through it as it drizzled from the sky, soaking his chocolate hair. Any worse than that though, Tubbo found nearly unbearable.

The last storm he had endured alone, he'd found the biggest room in his cabin and balled himself up against a wall, covered his ears tight and waited it out. It wasn't fun.

At least he wasn't alone now, he thinks, as he peeked through the curtains of a window in Ranboo's room. He didn't particularly like being at Ranboo's house considering how close it was to Phil and Techno's— and silently he thinks maybe this is a sign that he never should've came. He knew that Ranboo wasn't far (he was just in the basement organizing some of his chests) but the dark clouds above and the way that wind blew so hard it tore leaves from branches outside, the way the rain was only becoming heavier brought him back to being alone. He couldn't help it no matter how hard he tried— being sucked back into unforgiving times with unforgiving people, only bringing back unforgiving memories.

He tried to tear his eyes away from the chaos outside, he knew he should probably go find Ranboo, because he was here and Tubbo wasn't alone and everything would be fine right? But for some reason he couldn't. His feet were stuck, his eyes were glued to the havoc mother nature mercilessly wreaked outside.

And finally, it came. The very first BOOM! from the sky; the clouds letting out their anger in the loudest way possible as a flash of light shot across the earth.

Tubbo jumped, stumbling back on clumsy feet until he tripped over one of the legs of Ranboo's bed. He let out a startled noise as he fell to the floor, scrambling away from the window.

His back hit a wall and he jumped at the contact, and another terribly loud burst of thunder sounded. He groaned when his head began to pound, he hated the way it sounded like the popping of fireworks amplified 10x worse in his ears. It left a ringing noise in his head as he wined, bringing his knees to his chin and using his palms to cover his ears, squeezing his eyes shut once again.

When he distantly remembered he was in Ranboo's house and not his cabin, his first instinct was to call for him. He tried to open his eyes, but was only met with another flash of lightning shining through the now closed curtains.

And so he tried anyway, but when he said the other boy's name it would only come out as a pathetic, shaky whisper. He tried again, and again and again and it was useless. He was too afraid to move a muscle.

Another crash sounds, and the rain only pushes harder against the windows. He shakes his head to rid the memories away when he sees a sickening splash of color behind his eyelids. It's all coming back and he cant stop it, he can only think— beg silently to himself and the sky above, 'no no no no, not again—'

He tries to catch his breath but his chest is so tight, it feels like a pair of hands are around his throat constricting any air from being taken in, and somehow the thunder only seems to get louder, his hands are shaking and hes rocking back and forth and he can't open his eyes and—

He hears his name— faintly, distantly, but it's definitely there.

"—bo? Tubbo!"
