I honestly thought I was done updating this book but umm ig here's an angst SBI FDAU fic I posted on my Ao3 !! (@/inkstainzed if u want to follow me :)

Summary:
Basically Tommy doesn't like christmas because of the way he was treated in his past foster homes. Despite living with the Watson's for nearly a year, he doesn't expect things to be any different for him and dreads the holiday.

Things don't go as planned, in more ways in one. But maybe, Tommy will find, that christmas doesn't have to be such a bad thing after all.

For context reasons:
- Tommy is a foster kid, 13 years old
-Techno & Wilbur are twins, both around 16

Tommy doesn't like christmas.

Being a foster kid, christmas to him was nothing but the people around him rubbing the fact that he never had a real family in his face. That he never would, or that he probably just didn't deserve it.

His foster families would continue their traditions without him, shoving him to the sidelines to watch. Even if he was included, it never felt right. He was always the odd one out, sticking out like a sore thumb not meant to be where he was. That was one of his biggest problems: feeling like there was never a place for him. Like he didn't belong.

Tommy was loud, abrasive, and obnoxious, and more rude than not. He never gave respect because he never received it, and he never saw a reason to try to be better because after being through so many houses, he realized that no matter how hard he did, none of them loved him either way.

That was, until he was placed with the Watson's.

Phil put up with Tommy's behavior much longer than he deserved, and was somehow insanely patient. Phil was— is kind, and even when Tommy would scream at him and say the nasty things that people had told him so often it felt like a broken record in his mind, Phil took it. He didn't react harshly like he should've, never even raised a hand. He'd let Tommy take it out on him— which was unfair, looking back on it— and then try to talk to him when he calmed down. He was.. reasonable. More than any of Tommy's past foster parents, considering he still hadn't given the dirty blonde child up after nearly a whole year of having him.

It was the longest Tommy had ever stayed with a family— his new record. Though he supposed it made sense; Tommy came around easily once he realized the man and his sons' weren't out for his throat like most families were, and instead, were the opposite.

Wilbur wasn't shy. If anything, he was more like Tommy than he thought he would be. He wasn't the quiet kind, he made jokes and laughed with a confidence that could only be admirable, and even played people songs on his guitar. Before he knew it, Wilbur became someone Tommy looked up to, which he realized was something he'd never had in his life before. Of course, he'd never admit that aloud. If Tommy watched the way Wilbur rambled about foreign countries and small, random details about them like it was the most fascinating thing in the world to him, and he stifled a smile as he listened, nobody needed to know.

Techno on the other hand was more on the.. blunt side. He was very straight to the point, once he finally got around to being comfortable enough to speak to Tommy, having a monotonous voice more often than not. It was strange, the way that once Tommy arrived at the home Techno always avoided him like he had some type of deadly disease. He found out later that Techno was just antisocial, and meeting new people was difficult for him. It was a big change, having some random person live in your house, and Tommy wished he could say he understood. He couldn't, of course, because he was in fact the random person living in Techno's house.
