"Doctor Evans is there anything you can tell me? I know everything she tells you is supposed to between the two of you but I'm desperate here" Lisa asked fidgeting with her fingers. She wanted so badly to get through to Nini. To have a relationship with her"I'm sorry, but I could lose my job if I said anything. Plus it'd break the trust im attempting to develop between the two of us" Doctor Evans said. She recalls when she was younger going to therapy. If her therapist said anything to anyone she wouldn't have felt like it was a safe space to talk anymore
Lisa simply sighed not trying to force anything out of Doctor Evans. She was simply stuck as to what to do. It seems like Nini wasn't responding to any of her tries.
"Look, what I can tell you is that Nini has been through a lot. Maybe even more than any of us suspected that she has. Try to talk to her"
"I've tried. Her past is such a sensitive subject for her I don't want to pry. She doesn't really say anything. When she does they're short sentences or a head nod or a head shake."
"I wasn't exactly able to get to her either, but sometimes telling her about yourself rather than constantly asking about her might help. Her learning more about you might help her feel more connected to her. I'd suggest maybe planning a day with just the two of you and talking to her"
"Alright, that makes sense, Thanks Doctor Evans" Lisa smiled slightly before heading to the car. She was left to figure out what her and Nini could possibly do together.

"So, how was therapy?" Gina asked Nini silently. She knew Nini wouldn't want the fact that she had to see a therapist broadcasted to the entire school. It was something Nini was embarrassed of.
"Honestly? I don't know" Nini admitted. She didn't know how to feel. Something about Doctor Evans telling her story relaxed Nini slightly but still wasn't too comfortable talking to her.
"You don't ?" Gina asked as she grabbed a few books out of her locker and Nini shook her head
"Hey, do you want to get out of here?" Nini asked not wanting to be at school anymore. She wanted a break from everything involving school.
Especially that project she'd been assigned in English. The great gatsby wasn't her comfort zone at all, and one thing she latched to was comfort.
Stepping out of her comfort zone was something Nini hated. Comfort was something Nini couldn't find for the past 16 years. So when she was finally able to figure out what exactly she's comfortable with she hated to let it go.
"Now? We have class" Gina laughed continuing to grab a few books from her locker.
"I know but wouldn't it be nice to have a day out of here? Where we don't have to listen to boring lectures and take notes."
"I do have a math test I'm trying to avoid" Gina said pretty much convinced to ditch with Nini. It'd be a nice little break for both of them
"Come on, let's go have fun" Nini smiled holding her arm out and Gina latched arms with her as both girls walked out of the school building giggling.
This definitely wasn't something either of them did often, but when they did they always enjoyed themselves. They'd only done it once before.
Gina honestly thought Nini would never wanna do it again after what happened the first time they'd skipped together so the fact that it was Nini's idea caught her completely off guard.
"So where are we going?" Gina asked starting up her car
"I can go for some ice cream"
"Nini. It's 8 o clock in the morning. You want ice cream?" Gina asked laughing slightly
"You do have a point. You want to go sit and eat somewhere?" Nini asked trying to come up with an idea of something they could do
Both Lisa and Jorge were at work and so were Gina's parents so they knew that they wouldn't get caught.
"Yeah, where do you wanna go?" Gina asked pulling up the GPS on her phone. After living in her town for 16 years, she only knew how to get to school and home without the use of a GPS.
"You're still using a GPS?" Nini laughed "let's go to the Original house of pancakes"
"Now you know I don't know where anything is at. I need this GPS. You talking about IHOP?"
"No, not the international house of pancakes. The original house of pancakes. Those are two different quality pancakes"
"Oh I see it" Gina said before taping it on her GPS and heading off

Ricky walked into first period early in hopes he'd be able to get some work done. Something about being inside a classroom pushed him to get more work done.
As time went on students started to flood into the classroom and Ricky took short glances at the door hoping that each student that entered would be Nini.
He hoped that he could make some type of progress today talking to her but that hope quickly fell when Nini never entered the classroom.
Ricky sighed feeling like he was in this project alone. He was certainly intelligent enough to get this project done with his eyes closed, but he didn't want to.
In Ricky's head he kept repeating what Nini said on her sticky note.
Is love what drove him crazy, or was he just crazy in love?
The question was super complex and elaborate yet so simple at the same time. He wished she could elaborate on what she meant because there were so many ways the question itself could be interpreted.
Ricky jotted down each of the ideas that came to his mind Centered we around her question. Although it wasn't actually a theme, he could still use it to influence the theme itself.
Although the he knew she probably wouldn't say much, if anything Ricky was excited to show her what exactly he had come up with
