Epilogue

5 years later

Nini was in the kitchen cooking dinner when she heard the doorbell ring. "Babe! Can you get the door please?" She called out and a small smile came across her lips when she heard footsteps.

Nini looked toward the door and filled with excitement seeing who was there " Mom! Dad!" She exclaimed greeting Lisa and Jorge.

It took Nini a little while but she finally warmed up to Lisa and Jorge. She decided to put her past behind her, and not let that stop her from enjoying her life with Lisa and Jorge.

Not long after Emily kidnapped Nini she was sentenced to life in prison for kidnapping, and child abuse so Nini was no longer worried about her.

"Hi baby!" Lisa exclaimed kissing Nini's check excited to see her daughter. It seemed like she hadn't seen the girl in a long time. "What are you cooking?"

"The only thing that doesn't trigger my morning sickness" Nini laughed "Pasta"

"Do you need any help?"

"Nope, I want you to sit down at that table and wait for me to finish. You always try to weasel your way into the kitchen but I'm not allowing it today. Bye mom" Nini pushed Lisa out of her kitchen

"Well excuse me for trying to help my pregnant daughter"

"Well your pregnant daughter wants you to sit back and relax"

"Fine" Lisa have in taking a seat next to her husband.

There was a knock at the door and Nini immediately smiled knowing exactly who it was. There was only one person who knocked like that.

"Gigi" Nini squealed as her best friend entered the house.

"Nini!" Gina squealed as she hugged Nini who it seemed like she hadn't seen in forever "woah, that's new. Last time I saw you, you were tiny" Gina says referring to Nini's big, round growing belly

"I know! She's growing so fast. It's crazy that I only have 3 months left" Nini rubs her belly with a smile

"You know I'm gonna be the auntie that spoils her right? And she's definitely doing dance classes with me Mrs. 'I don't have any rhythm'" Gina said. After high school, Gina decided to open up her own dance studio so she was constantly doing something she loved.

She loved to see the way the kids' faces would light up when they were finally able to get a new dance move. It didn't even feel like work for her going in everyday.

"Umm, I'm pretty sure I'm going to be the aunt that spoils her" Kourtney said catching both girls off guard

"Nope both of you are wrong. It's going to be me" Layla said

"Oh, hey Kourt! Hey Layla! When did you guys get here?" Nini said giving Kourtney, and Layla a hug.

"I was right behind Gina so the door was already open. I didn't even have to ring the doorbell" Kourtney explained and Nini nodded focusing on the pasta sauce that she was making.

"And I came with Kourt"

"Let the best auntie win then" Gina smirked

"Does it have to be a competition?" Nini laughed

"YES" they all of them exclaimed

"I- alright then" Nini said before all of them laughed "alright now all of you get your seats in the kitchen! Dinner will be ready soon" Nini told them and they nodded heading off.

As Nini stirred the sauce she felt a pair of hands wrap around her waist and a chin rest on her shoulder. She smiled immediately knowing who it is.

"Did you feel that?" Nini asked

"Yeah, she kicked right?" He asked and she nodded "that never fails to amaze me"

"Me either"she looked down at her belly not able to wipe the smile from her face.

Nini turns around and wrapped her arms around Ricky's neck, his hands never leaving her waist.

"I love you so much. You saved me from more things than I can even name and I can't thank you enough for that. I don't know what I did to deserve you, but I'll always be thankful for that gatsby project....and Taylor swift" Nini laughed slightly

"I love you more than you can imagine. Nini you were always capable of everything that you've done to escape your past. You just needed someone to bring it out of you. The power that the great gatsby and Taylor swift hold" Ricky smiled before placing a long lasting kiss on the girls lips

"Ugh! Enough of the PDA I'm hungry!" Layla said as she walked into the kitchen

"This is our house, so if you'll excuse me" Ricky said leaning in to kiss Nini again. This one was slightly shorter but still made both Ricky and Nini smile.

"Dinners ready but we have to wait on Mike and Lynn to get here" Nini told everyone , and they groaned slightly.

Not even 30 seconds later the doorbell rang with Mike and Lynn behind it.

"Hey! Look at that! They're here!" Layla said pushing everyone out the way to prepare their plates.

Ricky placed his arm around Nini's waist and she leaned into him and all they could do was chuckle at her antics.

"So what do you think we should name her?" Nini asked Ricky as she rocked back and forth in her rocking chair admiring her growing belly.

"I think you should name her" Ricky told her honestly.

"Me?" She asked kinda shocked and Ricky nodded

"Yeah, you have to carry her for nine months along with going through labor and delivery. I think you should name her"

"I do have an idea for a name, but I think we should name her together, so if you don't like it then let me know" Nini chucked

"Deal"

"Riley Naomi Bowen" Nini said with a smile

"It's beautiful" Ricky told her

"You really think so?" She asked with tears in her eyes. The pregnancy hormones really make her cry at anything.

"Yeah. It's perfect" he smiled

"Ricky can I—can I be honest with you?" Nini told him with slight worry in her eyes

"Always"

"I'm scared. I mean I don't want to turn out like my mom, but what if I do. I mean I love this baby so much already and I just I don't want her to go through the same thing I went through"

"I promise you Nini, you won't. Not all examples have to be good to learn from them. You learned from your parents example of what not to be as a parent, and I already know that you'll be an amazing mother to Riley"

"You really think so?"

"I know so" he smiled

"I'll love you forever, no matter what. I couldn't be happier that you're my wife"

"I'll love you forever no matter what husband, me and all my scars of insecurity"

AHHHHHH AND THATS A WRAP ON SCARS OF INSECURITY. Sheesh I'm so happy to be done with this book. It took me forever to write and this was definitely my least favorite to write lol but for some reason you guys loved it. I got bullied into a happy ending so I hope y'all enjoy my very first happy ending lol. Tysm
