"Well hello Nina" Ricky said with an evil grin plastered across his face

Nini's heart broke into what seemed like a thousand pieces at the sight of him. She hoped this was all just some type of sick joke. That the camera crew would come out like on tv letting her know that she got pranked.

That would be better than this actually being reality.

"No, no, no, no,no this can't be possible" Nini shook her head as tears fell down, but she didn't care.

"Oh but it is Nina" her mother laughed "Ricky you can tell the story"

"You see Nina, after that day we saw your mom at the coffee shop she gave me a card with her number on it. I called her that day. She told me that if I helped her capture you there'd be a nice amount of money in it for me. You think I'd give up that much money for you?" He laughed bitterly as tears continued to run down Nini's face with every word that he spoke

"Why do you think we kept hitting dead ends on the search for your father? I was purposely doing that to give your mom a slight chance of you giving in and calling her. Remember that day I said I was going to 'hang out with my friends?' Yeah I went to see Emily and she told me all about this plan. She told me where your father is, and well you know the rest"

"You- you told me you love me" she said barely above a whisper. Her lips were trembling and it felt like her heart was broken into too many pieces to fix

Ricky's eyes flashed with sympathy but it left just as fast as it came. Nini took notice of it but she couldn't believe it. Everything was a game. All the dates. All the I love yous. All the kisses. Everything.

"How could you do this to me Ricky? You were the only one that I trusted. I let you into my life. I let myself fall in love with you. I showed you—I showed you my scars. What could I have possibly done to you to make you okay with this happening to me?"

"I just really need the money—"

"No amount of money should be worth betrayal Ricky. My feelings, my security, my trust all of that should've been worth more than any amount of money to you and the fact that you're willing to just throw all that away? I hate you. I hate you so much" Nini rant and hurt flashed in Ricky's eyes. Even though he should've seen it coming, hearing the words hurt him.

"Now she's talking too much. Boohoo the man you loved hurt you. So did the man I loved! Besides I told you before they only want one thing out of you then they leave.Something you probably already gave him like an idiot"

"The difference between me and you Emily is that I never cheated on him. You cheated on dad constantly and you're the real reason that he left."

"I'm not going to listen to you talk down on me" Emily pushed Nini over in her chair causing it to fall. Before her and Ricky walked up the stairs leaving Nini alone on the ground.

Nini squirmed trying to get up from the chair but her hands were behind her back and there wasn't much she could do.

She looked around the room trying to find something she could use to get out but there was nothing there but a leaky faucet. There wasn't much she could do because she was on the ground tied to a chair.

When she fell the picture that Ricky painted of the two fell out. It was folded but the corner that read 'I'll love you forever no matter what' was showing.

Nini really thought that what they had was real. That he meant every word that she said, and for some reason she still had hope. Hope that what he wrote in that small corner was true.

Nini cried and cried until she couldn't anymore. Eventually she fell asleep uncomfortably on the floor.
