"Gi I don't know what to do. He actually made me...smile" Nini paced back and forth on the phone with Gina. Ricky had just left her house and she was panicking
"Nini calm down. That's a good thing right?"
"I mean I guess so. But the only other person who's ever gotten me to genuinely smile is...well you" Nini admitted. Her smiling was something that didn't happen much.
"Well maybe you like him" Gina proposed and Nini's eyes widened immediately
"Me? Like him? No no no no no no way" Nini said quickly and Gina chuckled at how defensive her best friend was being
"Well there's obviously something there if he made you smile. Something different. Even if it's just as a friend"
"That's the thing Gi. I don't know how it happened. I mean I haven't known him for that long. I barely know him. How did he make me smile like that?"
"I'm not sure Neens. Maybe you should ask him to go somewhere outside of school work. It'll give you a chance to get to know him and feel more comfortable around him"
"I don't know Gi. You know I don't really like interacting with others."
"Well the way I see it, you're gonna have to interact with him either way because you two have a project to get done. You might as well try" Gina reasoned and Nini took a deep breath realizing that she was right.
"Okay fine I'll ask him" Nini sighed " I truly hate it here"
"You'll be fine Neens. If anything gets weird or goes wrong I'm only a phone call away"
"Alright. Thanks Gi"
"Of course. What are best friends for?" Gina said before hanging up the phone, and Nini fell back onto her bed.
