"Nini! Wait up!" Gina yelled as she saw her best friend not too far down the hallway.

Nini looked back noticing Gina running towards her and moved out of the way of the students behind her who were trying to continue their course to their classes

"Hey Gi" she smiled greeting an out of breath Gina. "Why are you so out of breath? You only had to run like a foot" Nini laughed slightly

"I'm not a runner. You know that" she said trying to catch her breath and all Nini could do was laugh at the girl

"Yet you can perform an entire 20 minute dance routine without a break. Please"

"I'm working on 45" Gina smirked and Nini simply smiled shaking her head.

Gina was a super talented dancer. You could argue that she was the best in the school which was why she was captain of the dance team.

Something about her movements draw your eyes to her. Her arms were always sharp and her movements were always clean.

She tried several times to teach Nini how to dance but Nini insisted that she had no rhythm and it was no use.

"Oh! Nini I wanted to tell you that I probably won't be at lunch today. Coach called an emergency dance team meeting for some reason. One that I really don't want go with"

"Alright, that's fine" Nini said quietly but loud enough for Gina to hear. She was kinda sad that she wouldn't have her best friend there at lunch to sit with her, but it was nothing she hadn't been through before

"Are you gonna be okay?" Gina asked concerned. She hated leaving Nini alone in her thoughts knowing that those thoughts could possibly lead her back to her past.

Even when Nini was home, Gina was constantly texting her making sure that she was okay. While it was kinda suffocating for Nini she was grateful that she had a friend that genuinely cared.

She didn't know what she'd do without Gina in her life

"Gi, it's lunch. I think I can manage eating by myself" Nini giggled

"Okay, but I'll be there as soon as I can. I don't like having to leave you by yourself"

"I'll be fine"

"You wanna come over after school? I want to hear about your date" Gina said with a smile hoping she'd say yes.

"Not a date, but yeah that'd be fun. Let me just ask if I can stay"

"Alright let me know" Gina said and Nini nodded in response before heading to her  class.

English

Nini walked into the classroom and nerves immediately filled her body. Her stomach was in knots and her palms became sweaty.

Usually she'd be fine in English, all she had to do was listen to the teacher and jot down a few notes.

But after the night with Ricky she was left super confused. First she genuinely smiled at him, then she actually talked to him. It was so out of character for her to do with someone she hadn't known for at least a few months.

He had kinda opened up to her, and she enjoyed every minute of it. She was thankful that he didn't expect the same from her because she definitely wouldn't have felt comfortable tell him about her past. Not yet at least. It was really nice to get to know Ricky though.

Ricky was left just as confused as her. He didn't know where they stood. Would she actually talk to him from now on? We're they actually friends ? He didn't want to make any assumptions so he walked into the classroom with very low expectations.
