"Right behind you," Dan replied, and laughed when Tyler spun around, not picking up on his sarcasm.
"Dan be serious! Does anyone know?" Tyler pleaded desperately.
"Maybe she is at the spring," Sally advised sagely, "she has been over there a lot recently."
"Thanks Sally, I will go look."
Tyler then immediately departed for the hot springs near their bunker, it was one of the only places you could expose skin without getting severe frostbite. Just as he was about to leave Dan yelled, "Don't forget to be back by 7! We still need to test my new drone!"
Tyler replied smugly, "Why don't you ask Sally? I'm sure she would love to spend some time with you."
Tyler then sprinted for the door before Sally could do any damage. Dan and Sally had been friends before everyone met and became a team, so Georgia, Alyssa, and Tyler always teased them about being a couple even though they obviously were not. Dan and Sally hated it but they put up with it because they new their friends were not actually serious.

When Tyler stepped out he felt a rush of cold air. "Guess I'll need Dan to reinforce my suit again," he grumbled to himself. The trek to the spring was long but uneventful and he eventually did find Alyssa warming up in it's hot waters.
"Hey!" Tyler yelled, almost giving her a heart attack.
"Don't do that!" She screamed in reply, annoyed that he had been able to startle her. "I will get you back for that, and I don't I will get Georgia to do it for me."
Georgia and Alyssa were close friends, so Tyler truly believed that Alyssa would go through on her threats.
"Before you do anything hasty, I just wanted to say I brought you a present," Tyler said as he pulled a weird artifact out of his bag. Alyssa loved to collect things from the Ancients, and Tyler new she would love it.
"It's amazing! Thank you so much Tyty," she said slyly, knowing he hated that name.
Before Tyler could respond he heard a deafening noise long forgotten to mankind. A car's engine.
