"Why?" Tyler repeated, this time sharper.
"She was surrounded, and she would have frozen without a suit so I-I-I gave her a qu-i-i-ck death," Georgia managed to say.
"That's your excuse?" Dan asked in a cold voice full of hatred. "Dan, I'm sure she thought it was right at the time," Sally said trying to soothe his ire, but to no avail.
"No!" Tyler roared, "There is no excuse!" Dan was about to add his rage to Tyler's but Sally led him away to his room before he completely lost it. Dan was usually kind, humorous, and pleasantly sarcastic, but once he got angry you had to take cover and let the storm pass. Usually if he anchored on something positive he could stop himself, and Sally was always there to help him through it.
The others heard a few sobs from Sally as Dan ranted to her, but he apologized once he cooled down.
Lola, Carl, and Kevin left Tyler and Georgia alone to mourn. Just as Georgia was about to speak, Tyler picked up Alyssa's cold lifeless body and disappeared into his room to deal with his loss.
Only then when she was all alone did Georgia fall to her knees and weep for the loss of her best friend at her own hands.
