The Day You Came Back

Yunlan woke up feeling lightheaded for having a little too much beer last night. Not that he wanted to drink, it was because he had been suffering from sleep deprivation.

But now looking at all those empty beer bottles that scattered on the floor, he had regretted it. He laughed thinking that if his ghost boy were here, he would be nagged at til no end.

Normally he would just lie down lazily in bed on his unamusing day off. But today, for a change Yunlan decided to freshen his physical and mental health by taking a jog around the lake park. Although not so sure if this would help him to sober up or make him more drunk in memories of Shen Wei.

Again it was a lonely jog, especially when he saw way too many couples out walking or jogging together. He had totally forgotten about that part and looking at them made him feel pathetic.

He tried keeping a distance from them by running to a more secluded area, but a random couple kept running his direction. He couldn't even make a complaint, it was a public park after all.

"Can't they go somewhere else to date?" Yunlan murmured to himself.

After an hour of jogging, he took a rest at the bench that he and Shen Wei used to sit. In his hand holds a cotton candy stick. Not that he was going to eat it, but it had became another habit he couldn't avoid. He rested there for who knows how long but finally decided it was time to leave.

He went to the trash bin wanting to discard the untouched cotton candy that had been his good company, when a voice he knew very well made him stop.

"Isn't it such a waste to throw away something so delicious?" The person asked in a sweet voice.

Yunlan's heart skipped a beat as he turned to face the person and replied. "So what do you suggest? I myself don't eat this sweet stuff!"

"Oh... so it isn't for yourself? Are you perhaps meeting someone?" The person asked with a little hint of jealousy.

"Meeting?...No no..I'm waiting..he asked me to wait!" Yunlan replied and took a step forward.

"It's a shame to make a hunk like you wait. How long have you waited?" The person also took a step forward.

"It doesn't matter how long. Just know that I could wait forever if he wanted me to." Yunlan now took two steps forward.

So touched by what Yunlan had said, the person started shedding rain of tears as his feet made him ran towards Yunlan. With arms opened wide, he jumps on Yunlan like a koala.

"Ah Lan, I missed you so much!" Shen Wei cried out, clinging onto Yunlan tightly.

Yunlan embraced even tighter. "You remembered, Xiao Wei?" Yunlan asked as he gently puts Shen Wei down on the bench.

"Yes!" Shen Wei sniffed and brought out the sunglasses from his pocket.

Yunlan was shocked seeing the sunglasses he thought he had lost, not expecting it to be with Shen Wei.

"How is this with you?" Yunlan asked, observing the sunglasses.

Remembering the funny moment how Yunlan dropped the sunglasses. Shen Wei stopped his crying and suddenly replaced it with a giggle

"Well someone clumsily dropped it at the hospital when he was searching for his phone in his pockets. After you left I found it next to my wheel chair. So I kept it, thinking that you have brought it back for me!" Shen Wei recalled the time when he got his memories back.

Shen Wei, after arriving at boarding school, he kept bawling his eyes out every night in his dorm room.

"Mom and Dad, they don't love me!" Shen Wei stated while wiping the lens of the sunglasses. He had to wear it because his eyes were puffy and irritated from crying too much.

Yezun rolled his eyes at Shen Wei's statement knowing it was not true. His parents were so protective of him. He was the apple of the eyes for everyone, including Yezun himself.

"Gege! Are you done ranting yet?" They were going to be late for class, so Yezun took the sunglasses from Shen Wei's hand and wore it for him.

At that moment, memories of when he was ghost boy kept pouring into him like a glass filled with wine. It was making him dizzy as he wobbled and fainted.

After regaining conscience, he told Yezun the whole experience of him being a ghost boy living with Yunlan. At first Yezun did not believe it. But when he pieced everything together, it was starting to made sense, especially when Yunlan knew so much about his Gege.

"Didi, I must go back to him." Shen Wei stood up, wanting to pack up his luggage but Yezun stopped him.

"Gege! Think about it! So many things happened and I think it happens for a reason. It could be a test of love for the both of you. If he really loved you, he will wait for your return. He promised to wait didn't he?" Yezun explained his point of view. "Or you don't trust him?" Yezun added seeing Shen Wei worried face.

"But Didi...not that I don't trust him! I don't trust that girl with the red shoe!" Shen Wei blurted out the truth.

"Don't worry Gege! I will have our personal bodyguard watch over him and report to us daily!" Yezun smirked.

With all Yezun talking and convincing, Shen Wei finally gave in and agreed to follow his brother suggestions. Which by the way always seemed to work. He knows Yezun has lots of strange ideas from reading weird things online including fan-fictions. The recent one was even called "My Ghost Boy."

Again Yunlan was shocked. "So you remembered me since then? But you only came to me now!" Yunlan was upset.

Shen Wei wanted to defend himself, but couldn't tell Yunlan that it was his Didi's idea. So he gave Yunlan the kicked puppy look, hoping that Yunlan would forgive him.

"You don't care about me do you?" Yunlan asked.

"I do care! That's why I have my bodyguard watching after you." Shen Wei accidentally blurted out.

"WHAT?!! Did you really have your bodyguard watch over my move?" Yunlan asked angrily.

Again Shen Wei couldn't look at Yunlan straight in the eyes, he looked down and gave a nod.

"Is that them?" Yunlan pointed to the couple that kept jogging his direction earlier, and is now sitting down on a bench, feeding each other cotton candy.

Shen Wei looked at where Yunlan pointed at and waved his greetings to them. "Yes, that is Chu and his boyfriend Guo."

Chu and Guo saw Shen Wei waving at them, so they waved back.

Yunlan suddenly turned his back on Shen Wei and pretended to walk away.

"Ah Lan!" Shen Wei quickly jumped on his back to stop him. "Don't be mad at me. I came to you as soon as I finished school. My parents already agreed to transfer my school here, so we could meet each other anytime from now on." Shen Wei hugged around Yunlan's neck tightly, securing him from leaving.

Yunlan grinned in happiness. "Okay..I'm not mad anymore. Get off me! Aren't you embarrass?" Yunlan wanted to put him down, but the latter just hugged even tighter.

"I want a piggy back ride around this lake like we used to. Go!" Shen Wei demanded.

"You always have your way don't you my ghost boy! Remember after this, it's my turn to have my way. I've waited long enough!" Yunlan exclaimed.

Before Shen Wei could ask him what he meant. Yunlan started dashing around the lake, carrying Shen Wei on his back.
