Matt's POV: After bringing Severide to the back of the bar, I turned to look at him becuase I was mad. "Dude, calm down. You are freaking me out. Why are you so mad at me?" I then sighed as I looked at Severide. "Oh, I don't know...because you just offered a beer to a recovering alcoholic!" Severide then looked at me and realized what he just did. "Shit, you said that. I am so sorry man." I sighed and shook my head. "Dude, I am really trying here okay? I am trying my best to be a good husband, good chief, good brother-in-law and good friend. But I can't be on your side right now. That was unacceptable, especially when they have a young child."

Severide nodded and agreed. "By the way, why are you having beer?" Severide was then about to take a drink when he remembered that he promised to be sober in solidarity. Stella couldn't drink right now since she was breastfeeding so...I thought Severide offered to do the same. That's when I heard Stella come out of the washroom with Stephen. "Is that a beer I see in your hand?" Severide then turned to look at her and bit his lip. "I forgot." Stella then turned to look at me. "How could you let him get a beer Matt?!?" I then looked at her. "Hey, I did not let him get that. In fact, you don't get to lecture me when I am lecturing him on sobriety."

Stella was confused when I said that. I then sighed. "He offered a beer to Antonio when I refused it in solidarity with both Gabby and Antonio. Remember, Antonio has problems with alcohol?" Stella nodded and agreed. "Then you keep going Matt. Sorry, I should've known that you were lecturing him." I then looked at her. "Oh and Stella, I would've done it anyways. I have a wife who is breastfeeding too. Which is exactly why you shouldn't be drinking this." Grabbing the bottle, I then went to walk away to the bar so that I could put it down the sink. After walking over to the bar, I went to poor it down the sink. That however angered Hermann. "Matt, what the hell."

I then sighed while turning to look at him. "That was Severide's beer. He is not to drink because Stella is breastfeeding. Hermann, if you know a guy has a wife who is either pregnant or just had a kid...remind them that and don't give them a beer." Hermann nodded and agreed with me. "Very good point. How have I not thought about that? We have the right to refuse service if we believe it's not in the best interest of the client." I nodded and agreed. "And if it's not in the best interest of the bar. And believe me, letting a co-owner's husband drink while she's pregnant is not a good idea. I mean, Stella and Severide do part-own the bar no?"

Stella shook her head. "No, I just work here. But listen, you stop lecturing my husband and let me do that. You go back and sit with your family as we celebrate your birthday." I nodded and agreed with her before making my way back to the table so I could sit with Gabby.

NOTE TO READERS: I am starting to run out of ideas for the party. So, I am going to skip 2 hours now to when Matt and Gabby are home with the kids. They just put them to sleep when the story picks up in the next chapter.
