Matt's POV: Once me and Gabby finished having breakfast that morning, we both got ready to go downstairs and take a swim with the kids. Tying up my swimsuit, I smiled as I looked at Wally as he laid down on the bed. Tickling him a bit, I smiled at him. "You ready to take your first swim with mommy and daddy today buddy? You've been in the bath but not the pool." Wally then smiled as he looked at me. Picking him up in my arms, I smiled at him while kissing his forehead until I heard Gabby come out of the washroom. "What's with the shirt to go to the pool?"
Smiling as I walked over to her, I then went to wrap my arm around both of my girls. "Why, would you rather I be shirtless right now?" Gabby smiled when I said that before going to kiss me softly. "Of course, I always love seeing my hunky husband shirtless but...you are wearing a long sleeve shirt when we are going to the pool." I nodded and understood what she meant. "Yeah, I only brought long sleeve shirts. And you are not allowed to walk through the hotel lobby shirtless so, I didn't really have a choice as to what I wear down to the pool."
Gabby nodded and agreed with me. "Hey, at least the shirt matches your swimsuit." I smiled when she said that before looking down at my shorts. "Very true. Now, this little girl here looks adorable. I especially like what the swimsuit says on it." Gabby was confused when she turned to look at what it said on the swimsuit. She then read it and laughed. "I'm off limits baby boys." Gabby laughed as she stepped close to me and then went to lay her head down on my chest. "You are going to be such a strict dad when it comes to he dating boys." I nodded and smiled.
"Hey, at least I am not your brother. He is way stricter thean me. Heck, he is always going to be much stricter than me." Gabby nodded and agreed with me as she turned her head and then went to kiss me softly. "That there is the truth. Now listen, as much as I love just standing here with the three of you...I really want to go take that swim." I nodded and agreed with her before letting her go and walking away to grab my phone and the hotel key. "Think they have towels down there or should we bring some from up here?" Gabby then bit her lip. "They'll have some."
I nodded and agreed with her. "And if they don't, we just ask the front desk to get us some. After all, we pay for full-service." Gabby laughed when I said that and smiled. And boy was that a nice sight. The sight of her smiling and so relaxed was exactly what I needed to see right now. "Boy, is that a nice sight." Gabby was confused when I said that. "What are you talking about Matt?" Walking over to her, I then went to grab her neck and smiled while rubbing her cheek. "The sight of you smiling and just so relaxed. That is exactly what I want to see on a daily basis."
Gabby laughed when I said that and then smiled as she stepped close to me and then went to kiss me softly. "Know know that I love you right?" I smiled and nodded when she said that. "I love you too. Now listen, what do you say we get out of here and go to the pool like we said we were going to do? Then you'll be really relaxed. You'll be floating in the water with me and the babies." Gabby then shook her head. "We will do no such thing. Your feet are to be touching the bottom of the pool the entire time. Do you understand?" I nodded and smiled at her. "Yes, I do."
Gabby then went to grab my hand and intertwined our fingers as we went to walk out of the hotel room together. That's when we saw a maid walk by, and I decided to be proactive. "Excuse me?" Turning to look at me, she smiled. "Alderman Casey." I then looked at her. "Former Alderman. But uhm, I was just wondering. Where do we get towels for the pool?" The maid smiled at me. "There is a rack of towels right outside of the pool. Just grab some on your way in and put them in the basket on your way out. And good call with the shirt, hotel policy."
Turning to look at Gabby, I smiled at her. "What did I tell you? I knew that it was going to be hotel policy that men need to wear shirts when walking through the lobby on theeir way to the pool." Gabby then just shook her head. "Yeah, yeah. Now shut up before I decide to just concentrate on the babies while we are swimming instead of making giving you a couple kisses while we are in there." I laughed when she said that before continuing to follow her towards the elevators so that we could head downstairs to the lobby and then into the pool together. Walking in before me, Gabby waited for me to get in before pushing the button to go to the lobby.
Walking in with Wally in my arms, I smiled as I went to stand close to her before wrapping my arm around Gabby's waist. Looking at her, I smirked as I went to kiss her softly. "Now this is exactly what we need to do whenever we need to relax. Maybe we can even do this when you are recovering from surgery. Just stay in a hotel so we can be waited on. However, maybe without the kids this time around." Gabby then sighed and shook her head. "Matt, we are going to have to bring the babies. I am not going to be done breastfeeding by the time my surgery comes around."
I nodded and understood as I felt Gabby put her hand on my chest. "You starting to get worried about your surgery?" Gabby nodded as she looked at me. "Maybe later when we go back to the room, we can look at what the surgery actual does and how it's done?" I shook my head. "Gabby, that is not a good idea. We both know how your brain works. You are just going to think about what you saw all the time. I would rather you not have to deal with that when we are here to try and get you to relax. You know that was the reason for our visit right?" Gabby nodded and smiled at me when I said that. "And you are doing a great job."
I smiled when she siad that before going to grab her hand and intertwining our fingers when the elevator doors opened since we were now at the lobby. Walking out, we were shocked when we almost ran into somebody. It was Gabby's dad and his new girlfriend. "Gabriela." I just stared at him and then went to rub Gabby's back. "Ramon." Leading her over to the side, I sighed as I just turned around because I already knew that he was going to try and talk to us. "Just remember Ramon, stay away." He sighed and understood. "What are you doing here?"
Gabby then looked at him. "I am here for Valentine's Day and Matt's birthday. Please don't bother us. I'm stressed and don't need you adding to it." Ramon then looked at me. "What the hell did you do to get her stressed?" I then looked at Gabby and sighed as I went to give Wally to her. "Listen, go to the pool and wait for me there. I am going to speak to your father." Gabby nodded and agreed as she went to grab Wally from me. "Oh, can you also run upstairs quickly? I forgot to grab the diaper bag." I nodded and agreed with her, kissing her softly before letting her go.
