This is inspired by this picture below, what happened to Touya to make him Dabi, and the way Shirakumo Oboro's body was made into a nomu, plus some improvisation. This can be romantic, platonic, and yes you can use a family member of Touya's, I don't mind.

In this au, when the accident that burned Touya alive took place, he really did die. However, just as he did with Shirakumo Oboro, All for One had Touya's dead body turned into a very sophisticated nomu, keeping the fire quirk, but adding in heightened senses, an energy blast, and his control of his fire is increased (He still gets hurt from using his power based quirks though). He was also given a mental link to one of the more brutish nomu, the ones that can't think for themselves, essentially making them one in the same. The larger nomu generally takes care of Touya, who was given the identity of Dabi to help suppress his memory. The pair is never apart.
So the scenario is that your character knew Touya growing up, and was absolutely crushed when he died. You two had planned to become heroes together, and you ended up becoming one in his honor.
One day, when you're on patrol, you see an eerily familiar blue flame in an alleyway. You go to check it out, when you see your old friend, or at least a dead eyed, tired version, sitting across from a nomu. He turns to look at you, and tilts his head like a confused animal. "I... know you," he says slowly. "How do I know you..?"
