"Ne, ne, Shimiko, Takako," Hiromi grinned. "Wanna come over for dinner tomorrow? There's a special occasion!"
"Special...occasion...?" Shimiko tilted her head.
"I don't remember there being any festivals," Takako turned to Shimiko.
"No, no, it's much better than a festival," Hiromi chuckled mysteriously. "Wanna know?"
".....No thanks," Takako said bluntly before walking away.
"WAIT, WAIT! IT'S THE FIRST TIME IN A YEAR MY SISTER WENT TO GET THE GROCERIES!"
"......THAT'S IT!?"
"YEAH, WHY?"
Shimiko sweatdropped at the two.
And that was how....
....she was now sitting at the Yokoyama family's dining table.
She inhaled.
Her eyes trailed to Takako.
Takako squeezed her hand tight.
Shimiko let out a shaky breath before nodding.
This was war.
They should never have agreed to come over for dinner.
Oh, the pain of two introverts.
"Ah, you two are so quiet. Unlike my daughter," Asuka Yokoyama, Hiromi's mom chuckled.
"Oh, Takako is always quiet, but Shimiko is loud as hell around us!" Hiromi smiled.
It was almost as if a boulder was dropped onto Shimiko.
Takako stifled a giggle.
'Not funny.....' A depressing aura radiated off Shimiko. 'This is embarrassing....please stop embarrassing me, Hiromi!!!' she cried mentally.
"Takako is quiet, but you should see her scream when Shimiko dropped a fake lizard onto her head!" Hiromi grinned brightly.
Killer intent radiated off Takako.
Shimiko stifled a giggle.
'Hiromi....is so dead.' Takako seethed silently.
"Dear, you really are close," Asuka smiled warmly. "Oh and, can you get your sister here, Hiromi?"
"Of course! Oh and, when is dad coming home?" Hiromi asked.
"He'll be back home late today and he said he'll be having dinner outside," Asuka answered.
"Oh, okay then," Hiromi nodded before running to her sister's room and slamming the door open. "OUT OUT EAT DINNER!!!"
"I- close the damn door!"
"Nu-uh, dinner time," Hiromi crossed her arms. "There are guests."
"The more reason to not go, now out," Hiromi's sister hissed before slamming the door shut.
"Ah, I'm sorry, she's always like that," Asuka gave them an apologetic smile.
"It's understandable," Shimiko sweatdropped.
"You better come out or we're finishing all the tofu!" Hiromi called.
There was silence.
"Oh, alright then," Hiromi smiled before plopping onto her seat.
"Well, go on," Asuka smiled.
"Itadakimasu," Shimiko whispered before picking up her chopsticks and her bowl of rice.
The door creaked open slowly as Kazuko, Hiromi's sister walked out.
".........Hi."
"...Hi."
"That bowl is yours," Asuka informed.
"Obviously," Kazuko muttered to herself.
Kazuko had brownish-black hair with slight curls reaching her shoulder, and she looked about 165 cm tall.
From what Takako told Shimiko and Takako, Kazuko was....14 or 15?
Kazuko sat down.
There was an awkward silence.
"Itadakimasu...." she muttered before placing a tofu onto her rice.
An awkward 1 hour passed by, just like that.
"I'll walk you guys out!"
"Please do," Takako smiled.
'She's excited,' Shimiko thought with a sweatdrop.
The door slammed shut.
Takako dragged Hiromi away, ignoring her muffled screams.
Shimiko stared up at the dark skies.
"Man, what a day."
