MIA

I glared at him as I tried to snatch my necklace away from him, but he raised it higher causing me to groan in frustration.

"I just want to ask you a few things then you can have it," He said.

I crossed my arms over my chest as I raised my brow.

"What?"

"Why were you here?"

"Didn't I tell you that earlier?" I said with confusion.

"But you're the daughter of an alpha!"

"What's your point?" I asked.

"What is this?" He asked as he raised the necklace in front of my face. He was just doing that to piss me off now.

"It's a gift from my fiance," I lied smoothly.

"Oh. You have a mate?" He asked with curiosity.

"Yeah!"

"I don't trust you so I'm going to need to meet your 'fiance'," He emphasised on fiance. I mean I was lying but he didn't have to say it like that.

"You know what," I took a step back from him. "You're invited to my engagement next week," I said with a collected expression.

He placed my necklace back into his pocket and I internally smirked.

"It was a pleasure meeting you," I held out my hand for him to shake.

"Likewise," he smiled as he shook my hand.

"Well, my mother must be looking for me," I smiled at him. I bumped my shoulder against him on purpose as I walked away. I fisted my necklace in my hand as I cocked my head to the side to see if he had realised what I'd done.

Let's just say, I'd mastered the art of picking pockets. I had a few good friends on the streets that helped me become good at it. They didn't exactly run in packs, but they weren't rogues either.

I stood next to Mason as my parents spoke to the Alpha Adrian.

"We're staying here tonight," He said and I groaned.

"I wanted to leave right away!" I whined.

"So you can sneak out again?" He whispered, I cleared my throat as I looked away from him.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"Really? You think we don't know what you're trying to do?"

"If you mean getting away from a family who won't let me live in peace then yeah you do know."

"You're dragging our fathers name through the mud!" He finally snapped as he turned to the side to face me.

"Then father should stop forcing me to marry someone I don't even know!" I snapped back with a venomous edge to my voice.

"Our pack would have an excellent alliance with them if you marry their future alpha," He stated coldly.

"Is that all I am now? A pawn in your game of gaining power," I spit out bitterly.

"We just-"

"Save it," I held my hand up as I cut him off. "I don't need your meager explanations!" I stormed away from him as my blood boiled.

So that's why they wanted me to marry that useless piece of shit. To create a powerful alliance. Well, they were in for a surprise. I'd leave him standing at the alter if I had to.

"I heard you and Mason," my head snapped to the side as Dylan stood there, leaning against the wall.

"Hasn't anyone told you it's rude to eavesdrop?" I snapped.
