Chapter 17

DYLAN

I arrived at the pack house around mid morning, Serena and Adrian were finally moving to their new house so I was going back and forth with them as I helped them move the things they were planning on taking.

It had been a week since I saw Mia or even spoke to her, she had just messages me to inform me she had reached home, we spoke for a while after that but I've had a lot of things keeping me busy. The main one was that Adrian wanted me to find out how Ace knew that Serena was pregnant. I had spent most of my time in the cells with Daniel as we tried to get some answers out of him. He would let us torture him all day, but all he did was mock us and stay quiet, he wasn't going to break that easily. Adrian had asked Daniel and I to not mention any of this to Serena or she would freak out. I was supposed to take Ric to the cells with me today to try and get some answers from Ace. He could use some spells to get him to speak. I'm starting to get tired of Ace at this point, I don't get why Adrian won't just end him once and for all. If he's dead, it won't matter who told him about Serena.

I went towards Ric's room and knocked twice before entering. He had a girl in bed with him and I rolled my eyes.

"Get up," I ordered, and he sighed.

"Fine, give me a minute," I nodded as I walked towards the door. "Jeez no privacy," he mumbled.

"I heard that," I said walking out the door.

I was still staying at Adrian's new house till now, but I'd get back to normal here in a week or so. It's going to be tough, even for Adrian to run back and forth between the two places. I had advised Adrian to buy all the land between the two areas so it would be much easier to run the territory, besides it wasn't that much of a distance, it did take half an hour to get there by car. I went into my office, I turned on laptop and stared at the security camera footages, I was still keeping an eye on Aubrey. I had to make sure she hadn't done anything odd the past week that I wasn't here. I did leave Ric in charge of keeping an eye on her, and he did update me everyday but I just wanted to check today's footage.

I watched it play, as I grabbed the files Adrian had left on my table. Two more members had joined the pack, rogue sitings at neighbouring packs, I went through the second file as I waited for the video to finish playing. She hadn't done anything suspicious so far. I read the file about the rogue sitings but it didn't help at all, I thought I could find some sort of connection between them and Ace but there was none. Those rogues had been caught and held for questioning.

I look at the laptop screen and Aubrey was walking into the kitchen. We had cameras installed almost everywhere in the pack house except the bedrooms. We didn't want to invade their privacy. She walked out of the back door and got into her car, she drove out the main gate and there was no point watching the footage anymore as she had gone. One of the omegas has been subtly following her whenever she went. I trusted him to get the job done, I called him but he didn't answer. I sighed running a hand through my hair in frustration. I didn't have time for this today. I called Ric and told him I was leaving in five minutes. I still had to go back to Adrian's house and take a few of the things they had forgotten.

Ric met me outside and we instantly left, once we reached the house, I told one of the workers to take the things inside as Ric and I headed towards the cells.

"Wait," Ric stopped me and I turned around to look at him.

"Here, have this," he gave me a small vile filled with water.

"I don't need water," I said as he handed it to me. I inspected it closely as I shook it in my hand.

"It's not water, it's going to uncover any hidden scents or things," he said.
