MIA
I had to admit, Dylan was a pretty nice person. I think we'd actually make great friends. I smiled as I recalled our conversations. He had made sure to personally come to say goodbye to me.
I had told him about Liam, his death had been so sudden and just a few months after I'd met him. We had decided to get to know eachother, he hadn't even marked me before his accident. But we were crazy about eachother. Liam was the one who had gifted me my cloak, it was very worn out now due to my travelling during the night but I held it very close to my heart. Dylan hadn't given me pity like I thought he would, but he just understood how my loss felt. I can't imagine how he must have felt, losing his mate even though they were both alive. She must have had some serious issues with Alpha Adrian if she betrayed her own mate to hurt him.
My phone began to ring and I picked it up after seeing the caller ID.
"Hi! Why didn't you come last night?" Jade, my best friend chirped on the speaker. I winced as I moved the phone away from my ear.
"I was at another pack," I explained.
"Ah. I see," she said.
"I'll try to come tonight," I said but part of me wasn't sure what to do. I wanted to continue to find my way out, but Dylan had a point. I could give the man my father chose the benefit of doubt.
"Yes cause we found another way to cross through the black crescent territory!" She said with excitement oozing from her voice.
"Oh." I was supposed to feel happy, then why was I stuck in a conflict? "How?" I cleared my throat.
"Well, Elliot and I, trekked through the woods, we went around without entering their territory and it was simple," she said and I sighed.
"I think we should call it off for some time," I shrugged as I leaned against my headboard.
"WHAT?!" She screamed and I groaned.
"Stop screaming!" I snapped.
"But that's ridiculous! All our hardwork will go to waste," She snapped and I breathed deeply.
I could hear Elliot, her mate murmuring something in the background.
"She said she wants to call it off!" She told him and I rolled my eyes.
"I know that's what I said!" She said and I chuckled.
"I'm still here," I said it in a singing tone and she sighed.
"Why though?" She asked.
"I want to meet my 'fiance'," I emphasised on finance and I'm pretty sure they were both wondering what I was up to. In all honesty, I don't really know myself but if Dylan is right and this could be my second chance then it wouldn't kill to meet him.
"May I ask, why are you doing this?" Elliot spoke this time, his thick accent had always made me want to become British.
"Well, I met someone who made me realise that maybe it wouldn't be so bad to give it a shot," I shrugged.
"May I know who this git is, whose made all our hardwork go in vain?" He asked and I rolled my eyes.
"He's not a git, he's actually a very nice person," I said and I could practically imagine Jade and Elliot roll their eyes.
"Fine. But I'm not in favour of this," Jade popped in.
"I know, but one date can't cause any harm right?"
"We're going to agree only because we love you," She said and I let out a breath of relief. They were my best friends, I needed them to support me no matter how dumb my idea might be.
"I have to go right now, but I'll talk to you later," I said and we said goodbye before hanging up.
I thought about the warlock I had wanted to meet. I didn't get them time, I was looking for him before I had run into Dylan. I wanted him to check out the ashes in my necklace. The warlock I had gotten them from had told me to use it in my time of need, but he never told me how.
I decided to find my mother and tell her about my decision to meet the man from the southern pack. My parents would be ecstatic at my decision. My brother and father would be very pleased that they'll finally get to form the alliance they were hoping for.
I knocked on her door, she opened it after a few seconds and a look of surprise passed over her face.
"Mia?"
"Mother, I have decided to meet the man from the southern pack," I said as I walked into her room.
"That's amazing!" She smiled as tears filled up her eyes and she hugged me.
"Yeah, so you should just tell Mason to arrange a meeting," I said.
She looked at me with a huge smile.
"Of course! Let me tell your father and brother about your decision!" She rushed out of the room. I shook my head as I chuckled at her enthusiasm.
I head towards the kitchen and a few members were sitting at the pack island. I was good friends with all of them, they smiled at me and I returned it with my own. I headed towards the fridge to grab a water bottle, but before I could, Mason walked into the kitchen with a questioning look on his face.
"You've agreed to meet Ryan?" He asked with a raised brow. All the pack members in the kitchen were staring at us, and I gave him a tight lipped smile.
I walked over to him and narrowed my eyes, but the smile was still on my face.
"Let's go to your office," I gritted my teeth and he nodded.
Once we were out of the kitchen, I smacked his head and he shot my a glare.
"What was that for?"
"For embarrassing me in front of the pack members!" I snapped.
"How was that- forget it. You want to meet Ryan?" He asked with disbelief.
"If that's the man father has chosen then yes, I do want to meet him," I responded nonchalantly.
"Willingly?" He asked cautiously. .
"My dear brother, do I look like I'm joking? Yes willingly!" I groaned in exasperation.
"Okay... I'll arrange for you two to meet in a few days," He said but he still looked shocked.
"What does father have to say about this?" I asked and he looked at me with confusion.
"Oh right. He's really happy," he replied and I nodded.
At least they're happy.
'Ryan, not a bad name, let's hope he looks as good as his name seems,' Sienna commented and I agreed. 'I can't believe you've agreed to meet him though, Dylan really worked some magic on you didn't he?' She chuckled and I rolled my eyes in response.
'Maybe he's right,' I said.
"Earth to Mia!" Mason waves his hand in front of my face.
"Yeah?" I snapped myself out of my conversation with Sienna and looked at him.
"Father want's to see you," he said and I huffed. Great. What did I do now?
I dragged myself to father's office and knocked slightly before entering.
"Mia! Your mother told me about your decision," father said and I smiled at the happiness on his face. It felt nice to see him smiling because I'd made him happy.
"I've spoken to the the alpha and his son will be here to meet you in three days," father said and I felt my breath hitch.
"Okay," I smiled. I excused myself after a few minutes and headed to my room.
Three days was too little!
