MIA
"Here," Jade handed me the delicate diamond bracelet, I smiled as I put it on. My father had given it to me when I had met Liam, I'd never worn it, but it felt special to wear it today. I guess it will let my father know that I've truly embraced his decision, for the good of our pack.
I stared at myself in the huge mirror, as the hairdresser just fixed the stray strands.
I got up, staring at myself in the floor length mirror, I was wearing a white gown, with a sweetheart neckline, it was completely fitted till my waist. It flowed down elegantly from there, it had multiple layers so it looked like a ball gown. I had opted to wear flat pumps, the dress was heavy enough as it is. I wore a silver necklace, with a single diamond pendant, it was in the shape of a water droplet. I put on the rings in my fingers, I heard a gasp and saw my mother's reflection in the mirror. I turned around, she had tears glistening in her eyes.
"You look amazing," She breathed out as she quickly walked over to me and hugged me tightly.
"I can't believe you'll be gone," She cried out.
"I'll come visit," I tried to reassure her, holding back my own tears. "Where's Jade?" I smiled, trying my best to distract myself from having a full blown meltdown about having to leave my home.
"She went into the bathroom," Mother motioned at the bathroom door and I nodded.
She could have distracted me right now, she probably will.
"Hey," I looked up to see Mason standing at my bedroom door staring at me with an odd look in his eyes.
I wiggled my eyebrows at him and did a little twirl, "What do you think?"
"You look nice," He stated and I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Just nice?" I frowned, looking at myself in the mirror once more.
"Very Nice Mia, it's time, he sighed and I took in a deep breath. Jade rushed out of the bathroom on cue.
"Let's go," Jade looked at my mother and she nodded in response. She quickly hugged me lightly, and squeezed my shoulder, "Good luck! I'll see you in a bit," she whispered into my ear. I nodded without saying anything and let go, heading out of the room alongside my mother.
"You ready?" Mason asked, still leaning shading my doorframe. I nodded, taking in a shaky breath.
"Can I ask you something?"
"What?" I felt my curiosity stir in my tummy.
"Are you happy?"
"Why do you ask?"
"I'm your brother, should I not ask?" He raised he brown at me, making my sigh in response.
"It does matter Mason, whether I'm happy or not, what can you even do if I say I'm not?" I questioned.
He sighed, looking down with a defeated expression.
"Hey," I walked towards him, "Ryan isn't so bad, I'm sure I'll be okay," I smiled, trying to reassure him.
"If he does anything wrong to you, you just have to say a word to me, I'll kill him," I chuckle at that and he hugs me tightly. "I'm going to miss you."
"I'll miss you too," I mumbled, trying not to cry.
"Let's go," he offered me to loop my arm into his, and I do so.
We walk downstairs, heading outside, where the wedding was taking place.
The music for my entrance began playing softly and Mason squeezed my hand reassuringly.
Jade was standing at the entrance and quickly handed me my bouquet of white roses, we slowly began walking down the aisle and my eyes met Ryan's, he smiled at my reassuringly and I felt my nerves calm down a little.
'Ready Sienna?' I asked my wolf.
'Maybe,' she answered casually.
Yeah, she a lot of help. I refrained from rolling my eyes. Ryan was waiting for my by the steps to the alter and Mason placed my hand into his. Ryan gently squeezed my fingers, trying to calm me. Was my anxiousness that obvious?
The wedding officiant began the ceremony and I smiled at Ryan nervously.
"Love has brought us together on this special day..." the officiant's voice faded away as I stared at Ryan.
"....if there's anyone who can show just cause as to why these two people should not be joined in matrimony, speak now or forever hold your peace," I felt Mason's burning gaze on me, our eyes connected for a mere second and tried to tell him not to say a word.
"I do," a female voice came from behind me and I frowned letting go off Ryan's hand as I turned to look at the source of the voice.
A girl around my age, was standing there, glaring at Ryan.
"Who are you?" Mason asked, stepping behind me, putting a barrier between Ryan and me.
"His mate, the one he just fucks when he needs, I'm pregnant with his child! For the second time," she seethed, she looked at Ryan dead in the eye but he didn't betray a single emotion on his face. "Tell them what you did the first time I was pregnant," She narrowed her eyes at him, I could feel the hatred radiating off her body. I leaned against Mason, trying to understand if this was really happening. He held onto my arms, keeping my from falling, I felt my stomach drop as a thick feeling of betrayal settled in my gut.
"What did he do?" Mason questioned, I'm so glad he's here, I felt tongue tied, and utterly numb. This couldn't be happening, hundreds of guests had their eyes trained on us and I wished I could just melt into a puddle and disappear from the scrutiny of their intense gazes.
"He stabbed me, over and over again till my child died," I felt bile rise to my throat.
"What is this?" I heard my father growl at her.
"I'm doing you a favor and saving your daughter from a monster!" She yelled at him.
"She's lying, I don't know who she is, you have to believe me," Ryan said helplessly, trying to grab my hand but I flinched backwards.
Mason growled at him, making him stay where he is. "Don't touch my sister," he seethed.
"Father," I mumbled, he looked at me with a sorrowful expression. "I believe her," I said.
"Mason?" I said weakly, holding back my tears, "please take me inside," I said, as shivers ran down my body. I didn't love Ryan, then why did this hurt so much? Mason growled at Ryan.
"I'm going to kill you," he threatened him, before leading me back into our house.
"Mason, please don't leave me alone," I felt the first fear roll down my cheek.
"Hey," he wiped my tear away. "Don't you dare cry, you're stronger than this." He stared at me helplessly.
"I don't even know why I'm upset, maybe I thought I could have a normal chance at happiness, and I got to embarrassed in-front of hundreds of guests! What am I going to do?" I cried out.
Jade and Aunt Madison entered the room, their faces just as crestfallen as Mason's.
"Come here," Aunt Madison hugged me tightly and I let the tears fall freely.
Why does this always happen with me? Am I not good enough, or don't I deserve a shred of happiness?
