I spent the weekend with Jo-Jo and papa John. On Monday I got ready for the day and the adventure. There were some things that I need to find out. And I know for sure that I will. I won't give up just because my friends want to hide shit. I don't care about what they think. I don't care about being lonely anymore. I don't care about him coming back and messing me up even more.
I'm gonna do what I have to do.
The college seemed more busy than ever. But not minding anyone else, I parked my car in the lot and got to my first class. On my way, I saw Edward and Sophia. But I ignored them and walked away. For some reason, I feel like I'm acting all bitchy but I have to do this. For once I just want to be selfish and find answers. Because that man, is after me..he pushed me to fall for my death. But Clayton magically saved me.
I have a hunch that he might be a witch, but I'm not sure. Because if he is then there are other supernaturals out there. And most probably that man was something more powerful. Dangerous.
He saved me and said that it was his duty. I don't know what part I play in all this. But whatever it is, I'm sure it's major. Because that man wouldn't have visited me if it wasn't important.
"Where have you been?" Calla demanded.
"At home." I replied curtly.
"Ava please try to understand. We can't tell you things. Not yet. Not until you turn 18 and we are sure that you are who we think you are. Until then you have to be patient." She pleaded.
"I know. I'm not asking you, people, for anything anymore, am I?"
"No but I know you are upset."
"Am I not supposed to be upset? The people I thought were my friends are hiding something from me. The man that they know, pushed me off to my death. He said things about. Things that nobody else knows. So I guess I'm just overreacting and you don't deserve a friend like me. I'm awful."
"Stop being a bitch." Another voice joined us. And I didn't even have to look up to know that it is indeed Kayden. He would be the only person to call me names.
"She is not being a bitch Kayden. You are!" Calla snapped at him. "She was almost dead. If Clayton didn't reach there in time, she would be six feet under. You failed at one job that was given to you. She has all rights to behave this way. So shut up!"
Kayden didn't say anything. He just looked at me. For the first time, he wasn't glaring at me. His expressions were calm. It was like he was trying to assess me. Like he was trying to memorize how I looked. The intensity of his gaze made me look away. I stared at the rainbow pencil in my hand and breathed quietly.
"Can we talk?" He finally asked me in a calm tone.
"Why? What's there to talk about? Will you give me the answers?" I snapped my head in his direction and asked him sharply.
"C'mon don't be so stubborn now. We need to talk and it needs to be done as soon as possible." Kayden gave me a look that I couldn't quite decipher.
"Fine. After the lecture." I muttered and looked away from him.
The class began soon and it was the only class that I wished never ended. I didn't want to talk to him. I just wanted to go about my day and then search the left side of the city. I'm not sure if that stone meant the left of the city or the country or even the world. But it surely didn't mean left of the body. That wouldn't make sense.
As much confusing as the note was, I was even more confused with things being still around me. There was hardly any breeze or any movement of the creatures of the earth. It was like, it's just us humans. There was no sign of animal life. Not even a single bird in the sky. Not even a single insect crawling the surface of the earth. Nothing.
It's creepy and makes me feel like something is going to happen. Something really bad.
I looked around to see that everyone else was pretty normal. They didn't notice anything unnatural. But I did. And I felt creepy. Any other day I would've shrugged it off but no. I know things aren't natural. It's like all the supernatural shows that I've seen, have come together to haunt me. But unlike those shows, I'm alone. And I'm also no supernatural. I'm just a normal human who has had a tragic past and goes through PTSD daily.
I do have pimples, I do have frizzy hair, I do have sweat and I also have skin breakouts. Just like anyone else. So currently I'm sporting a pimple right under my nose. It's heinous. And it's aching whenever something brushes against it. My skin is unnaturally red today. I'm not sure if it's blush or some allergy.
I turned around to stare at Kayden to see if he notices something is off. He didn't. Suddenly the feeling grows in my chest to the point where I couldn't take it anymore. I ran out of the class not bothering about how abrupt it was. Just some classes down the hallway was a fire alarm that I pulled with all the force I could muster.
In the next few minutes, people began piling outside the class. They all began walking towards the gym where most of the people were sporting. I wonder why they go to the gym because it is a part of the school. If the fire spreads it'll reach the gym too.
"What's going on?" Harry approached me and asked me.
"Just go to the gym. Trust me on this." I ordered.
"Let's go then." He held my wrist and tried to drag me along with him. At least he cares.
"No. I have to stay here. You should go, Harry. You're the closest person to Harry Styles that I have, and you need to stay safe you get me?" I asked with a completely serious face.
"Wow. You're just like everyone else. You're just using me. I hate you." He said dramatically and walked away while keeping eye contact with me.
"What are you trying to do Ava?" Kayden's gruff voice said from beside me.
"Flirting with Harry?" I acted clueless and saw the pile of students get inside the gym.
"You need to stop. It's not our fault that you're a stuck-up brat and used to having your way all the damn time. Sometimes things aren't supposed to be your way, Ava!" He hissed dangerously.
"You'd be surprised to know just how wrong you are." I mumbled slowly and walked wherever my feet took me.
I soon found myself walking towards the same building from where I was thrown down by that man. I didn't stop myself. I kept walking until I reached the roof. But of course, Kayden, Clayton and the rest of the group followed me here. There's danger in this place and they don't understand. Hell, it'd be a miracle if I understand too.
How do I know that something is going to happen? How do I know that I'll meet that man here again? How do I know when to stop or when to move? Who the hell am I?
"We meet again." That same voice! I looked up to see the same man, but this time, he wasn't alone.
