We all landed in Greece the next evening. There was hardly anytime left and I could feel it all dawn down upon me. It is a life or death situation not only for me but for everyone else.
The diwali celebration was so extraordinary that I don't think I could ever have something as special as that. Being with the kids, sharing their joy. Seeing the hope of a brighter future in their eyes made me want to push forward and rid the world of Aldrik once and for all. He doesn't deserve to snatch that smile off their faces. He is no one but evil and all evil must perish.
When we returned to the hotel, I made arrangements with our pilot and we flew away to Greece. Tonight we rest and tomorrow we search for answers again. Attik Greek. And we are currently in Athens. We've decided to go to different places tomorrow. Preferably churches and museums. Because the priests in the church and the guides in the museums must've dealt with ancient scripts such as this.
"Why are you still up?" Kayden asked from my door. I didn't even notice when he opened the door or since how long he'd been standing there looking at me.
"I don't know." I shrugged and got off the bed.
"What's bothering you?"
"Aldrik."
"You're scared." Not a question but a statement.
I nodded and sat down on the couch in the room. Looking around I found everything still. It wasn't even that late in the evening. But the lights were all out and Clayton must be asleep.
"You don't have to be. Like the guruji said, you just have to follow your instinct. Your subconscious will guide you. Because Aldrik doesn't possess physical strength he does posses impeccable mental stability and strength." He sat down beside me and held my hand tentatively.
"Yes but what if my conscious doesn't guide me? What if I fail? What if I don't get enough time? And what if I chicken out?"
"You wouldn't. I know you wouldn't. Because then John, Joanna and their baby will be in danger. Then all the people you've ever loved will be in danger and you aren't one to leave everyone to their devices and vanish."
"You put too much faith in me Kayden."
"No I just know you. A little." He spoke sheepishly.
I didn't say anything further. There was nothing to say. I just felt tired. The travelling was catching upto me. But hopefully everything will be worth it in the end. Because no matter what, I need to stay strong. I can't give up without even trying. And that I will.
_________
"You go inside and towards the left. I'll go to the reception and Kayden can go towards the second floor, there is a library up there." Clayton said already walking away to reception. I nodded at Kayden and left towards the left.
There were several guides standing there. I reached out towards the ones who could speak English and showed them the manuscript. None of them knew the answers. So I tried my luck with the ones who spoke Greek, to no avail.
Finally I walked towards the second floor only to find Kayden walking down with a sullen face. Near the reception we found Clayton who, too had no answers. So we went to another museum and another and another.
It was six in the evening and all three of us were just worn out. I found it hard to even lift my feet to walk any further. It was the most exercise I had ever done in my entire life.
Calla and Sebastian got the answers today in Egypt as well. They will be returning to London day after tomorrow. Harry and Dylan had just reached Arabia, in Turkey they found the first answer. Edward and Sophia are also in Arabia along with Harry and Dylan, so the four of them will look for the answers collectively. Calla and Sebastian offered to come to Greece to help up, we declined. The journey was taking a toll on all of us and we needed proper rest. We couldn't do that to them.
