Heart Of The Left.

As soon as I walked out of those doors, I took a deep breath in. My body was still buring in rage and nothing helped me at all. Not even the cool air against my skin. I shrugged off the sweatshirt and tied it around my waist so the cool air hit my body directly and help me calm.

That son of a bitch!

Honestly I never thought that Kayden would stoop so low as to insulting me in front of those random strangers. He had no right whatsoever. And the fact that while they were talking rubbish about me, he just sat there and listened. The least he could do was tell them to shut up. But perhaps he enjoyed my humiliation.

Whatever the reason was, he can go to hell. I promised myself to never ever approach him again. If he needs anything from me, he can ask me himself. And I know I wouldn't be needing his help so that's not a problem. Being good does take a toll on a person. But being bad would take a toll on my own conscious.

While I was fuming and mentally cursing Kayden a strange scent hit my nose. I sniffed again and caught that strangely pungent but irritating smell again. It was like a poison. Something disgusting but deadly. Then I heard a hiss, that of a serpent. Like a snake that had found his prey and was now steadily moving towards it to devour.

Looking around the empty area I found nothing, it was too dark to see anyway because the lamp post was a good ten metres away from the place where I was standing. Then there was another hiss that sounded dangerously close.

As if my body was possessed I lurched forward in a flip and heard a loud thud behind me. Swiftly turning around, I saw a few....reptiles on two feet which were a good 5'5"  tall. It had scales all over his body, it's eyes didn't have the iris, there was just a tiny slit and the rest was a pale yellow that made me sick to my stomach. It's tail was flipping around, swaying like the gentle breeze but there was nothing gentle about this creature.

A naga.

A snake, but not quite it. It has the whole body of a human but instead of skin, it has scales, instead of a tongue it has a forked tongue and instead of teeth it has sharp canines. And claws that are greased with its own venom. He could kill me in a snap.

I took a deep breath, preparing myself for my next move. It could mean death or life. I choose to do rathar than die. My lungs were filled with as much oxygen as I could possibly take. My feet took the stance, my hands positioned and my body ready for my brain to release the command. And as soon as the message reached my senses, I did it.

I ran.

As fast as my feet could take me.

What? I wasn't going to fight that thing out there with fangs and claws. Running was a better option. So I did.

But that bastard wasn't alone. They were four against one. Bloody bitches. Bloody Kayden. Bloody me. And bloody night club. Now I was surrounded. And they all snarled at me together. I felt it in my bones.

My blood slowly turning cold. My body collapsing, surrendering to these monsters to feed upon. And they say I'm the one who is going to kill such creatures? Hell no! But I guess I'm not going down without a fight? There was no weapon in sight and my fast heartbeat or my hazy mindset wasn't helping me at all.

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. I zoned out on all the hissing around me. My mind and body was solely focussed on getting one. It was important for my mind and body to be in sync, to be in control of each other. I might be ripped to shreads after this but I will atleast take one of them down with me.

When I opened my eyes, I could feel my thoughts become more clear. More refined and more loud. I didn't know what power I had, but I did know that I could scream and if anything the Sotera instincts should just kick in about anytime now.
