Ava's POV

The jungle was the same. I was drawn in and left to my own devices. There was no pull anymore. I had to find my way on my own. There was nothing around. Just the same trees and the same ground. I walked further, aimlessly and still didn't find a landmark.

Time was running out.

As far as I can judge the time by the darkness filling the sky, it must be around 7 or 8. I hope I'm not too late. But I kept pushing my way forward. Ahead and whatever direction I felt was fine. Okay enough to lead me to some place from where I could see where I will go.

Looking at all my surrounding which were all same, I was sure to be driven to the brink of insanity. My eyes began watering, the wind was too harsh against my face. So I used my own element of wind to calm the one around me. It did, to a certain level.

There were no monsters lurking behind the trees or the bushes. Not a single sound, except for my frantic heartbeat and my footsteps padding across the soil. My clothes were dirty and almost ruined. I felt like filth wearing them. But I had to manage. Only for a few more hours.

I pray the others are safe.

It was Kayden who yelled my name. Who cared to watch out for me. And I know he tried to come after me. But I wish that he didn't. Because he would be lost too and I don't want him finding Aldrik before me. Aldrik could kill him.

I don't want to lose him.

I kept going on and on until I realised that it was all futile. No use of running around and driving myself crazy. So I stood there, still as the water in a pond and closed my eyes. This is the first time I'm using the elements of the space. Combining myself and the universe as one. Becoming one celestial being.

My breathing evened out, my heart stopped hammering against it's cage and I felt calmer than I'd ever felt.

I invited the universe to settle down in me. In my blood that coursed through my body. I wanted it to lead me to Aldrik. So far I felt the pull towards him, now I will create the pull and drag him to me.

Drag him out of his own cave.

Nothing could be heard. This time, I couldn't even hear my breathings or my heart.

Slowly opening my eyes, I made my way towards the direction where I could feel the northern star. Up and up. The trees didn't matter anymore. All that mattered was the star that led me to my possible destination.

In old times, the northern star, Polaris, was used my navigators when there were no compasses. I now understand why they used the polaris to find their way. It was enchanted.

Magical.

Knowing now where my destination was, I moved swiftly through the jungle. Dodging trees and branches and the roots. It's okay. I'll kill him today. I'm almost there.

I kept chanting in my head. Having a positive attitude was a great ally in this war. So far I didn't break. I wasn't going to break now when I was so close to victory. So I walked through. And there it was.

The cave.

The so very infamous cave of Aldrik where he is hiding from me. Looking at the sky once again, I realised that it was seriously getting late. It's already 8. I wasted half an hour to find his cave.

"Aldrik!" I yelled his name. Of course he wouldn't have come out just yet. "You can't hide anymore. Quit being a coward and stop hiding from a 17 year old." I taunted. Hoping he'd come out and take the bait. He isn't stupid though. A few thousand years would do that to a person.
