Banyan Trees.

We'd settled around the tents. I and Kayden were obviously sharing the tents along with Clayton who would not let us sleep through the night, because apparently, he could hear the wolves howling in the distance. There are no wolves in England. And even if there are, how can he face the Nian but not the wolf?

He is ridiculous.

From the place where we were stationed, I could see the banyan tree forest. It was dense. And dangerous. Too dark. In the dark of the night one could easily mistake it for an empty void. Nothingness. It was nothing and everything at the same time.

I wonder what human eyes would see there.

And it all looked identical. There was nothing that could mark a difference in that place. Nothing at all. The trees looked the same. The branches looked the same. The roots looked the same. Even the movement of the leaves was the same. Definitely an illusion.

Tonight, we rest. Tomorrow the games begin. Tomorrow is when everything happens. And I feel those butterflies and those damned feelings in my stomach. I hate this. I hate this so much.

I could barely digest anything at all. Food made me queasy and looking at all of my friends, laughing carelessly, savouring each moment because who knows that it could be our last, made me upset. Made me dread what was to come tomorrow.

I didn't have enough time to prepare or to deliver the killing blow. I don't know the things that would happen tomorrow. But I know that I'd be forever grateful to all of them. Every single one of them for whatever they gave me.

"What is on your mind?" Kayden whispered in my ear, tightening his grip on me.

"I'm lucky." I smiled up at him. "Everything that I have has been so great. I am so grateful, and so darn lucky to have you all."

"This is not a goodbye Ava!" Harry reprimanded me from the side lines.

"I know. But I'm just saying what none of us want to. Anything can happen. Anyone of us could be dead tomorrow bleeding on the floor. And we'd never be the same. Nothing will be the same anymore after tomorrow. I just want you all to know that I love you people and I will always thank my lucky stars to give me friends such as you."

"Awe. That was the sweetest thing someone has ever said to me." Calla cooed and held her hands over her chest.

"Babe! I said I was cumming!" Sebastian said looking towards Calla, mortified.

"Seb!" She hissed at him as her cheeks turned red while everyone laughed.

"Gross you guys. I don't wanna know what you guys say during sex. But knowing Seb he would probably be explaining you the theory of sex while doing it." Dylan joked.

"And Calla would get more turned on by that." Sophia jumped into the conversation.

"Hey! As if Sophia would talk about something other than water. She'd probably be like, oh Ed, finish fast, we need to have water. We are so drained. It's not good. Not good at all." Harry mocked in a high pitched tone.

"She does not! But you? You were groaning as if someone was drilling your head." Edward retaliated.

"When did you even hear me?"

"When you were fucking that bimbo next to my room at the bar."

Harry stilled. Completely still, he didn't breathe, he didn't blink, he didn't even move a muscle. For a second there I was worried about him, but then he exhaled loudly and looked at all of us in face.

"Fuck!" Sebastian swore. "That wasn't a girl was it?!" He nearly yelled.

"No. It wasn't. But dude I was drunk and I though she was Sam. I mean he was Sam. So I moaned her name while, you know? And I'm not even gay or bisexual. It felt so bad and so wrong that I honestly apologised to that dude for weeks, but then found out that he cheated on his boyfriend with me. He was douche bag for doing that. So I wasn't so guilty anymore." Harry explained. We paused and then everyone burst out laughing.
