He just stood there. The sword sticking out of his chest, close to his abdomen. The horrible black fluid gushing out of his body. The stench was getting worse and time was running out.

I had till midnight to completely kill him once and for all.

But right now, if he had actual eyes, I'm sure he'd be spitting flames on me. His body was completely still except for the sudden darkness that surrounded him. Ready to attack me at the command.

I leaned my back against the tree and stood on shaky legs. Gauging his reaction to what I did to him. But Aldrik suddenly fisted his hands and nothing.

I waited for something to happen to me, but nothing at all.

"Let's end this here. Die peacefully Aldrik and I promise to cremate you with all the respect." Even I could hear the apprehension in my own voice.

My heart was now thudding painfully against my chest. Not a reaction that he caused. A reaction I caused by myself because I was scared. Everything settled down on me in that moment.

I wasn't standing in front of a person who was of my generation, nor was he from the previous ones. He was as old as time itself. And just as powerful.

As I stared into his eyes, those two black holes of what was supposed to be his face, I could swear that it promised me of death. My death. The idea didn't scare me as much as the thought of him winning did. I can't let Aldrik win.

So with that new determination in my mind I made the mental image of a hand and reached out towards him. Just like before. I searched and searched but I found nothing. It was dark. The same darkness that was now protecting him.

Summoning the wind I let it rein down upon that darkness as hard as I could muster. Then I lit flames in the air, brightening the area.

I was stalling because I didn't know what else to do.

So I summoned the water and flushed it on Aldrik who still remained impassive. Unmoving.

And he moved. Tried taking a step towards me, but couldn't. He was tied down to the floor. He would not be able to move because he had the sword of the supernatural queen. My sword.

Aldrik let out a grunt of disbelief and in the next second my body was being thrown away into another tree. I could hear my back cracking. Bones breaking with the intensity of it.

"I'm not letting a little girl kill me!" He yelled.

There appeared the Naga, Nian and Oni. They all were walking towards me and without my sword, I was just left to the mercy of my claws and fangs.

The three of them charged all at once getting good blows on me. My left side throbbed painfully. But I still tried to dodge as many attacks as I could. I couldn't stall further. So again, while fighting the three creatures, I reached out a hand and prodded further into Aldrik's mind.

This time there was no endless pit of darkness. No barrier so I got easy access to his brain. I gripped his brain in a tight grip in my hand.

I was shocked when a fist landed on my face. My grip loosened on Aldrik and I was left there with my jaw throbbing painfully. Shaking my neck, I stood straighter and slashed the face of the naga that was hissing in my face.

Die. Bloody bitch!

Then I went for the Oni and finished him with the fire. Watched him burn and the panic in his eyes. It was oddly satisfying. Watching the end of a creature that wanted to ruin everything for me.

Nian didn't come close to me. It just stood there watched the fire. He was afraid of fire. So I burnt him too. And spat the blood from my mouth, on the ground. Now watching Aldrik squirm.
