Ava's POV

Kayden proposed me.

Two years after I was settled completely. At the age of 24, with the love of my life, my friends and family, I was so happy.

He did it in the most subtle manner. No one but me and him were there. A normal date for us two. Like the crazy people in love we were, Kayden asked me out on a date that night. We had an extended weekend so I was more relaxed than ever.

He took me to a cliff which was covered in fairy lights and candles. And bushes of wild flowers overlooking a beautiful lake. Kayden had cooked for the both of us and I was more than happy about everything. The work pressure was getting to both of us.

I had moved in with Kayden. He paid for the penthouse so I paid for the groceries and the other bills. That's how things worked out between us. Always equal to each other. Shouldering the responsibilities together. He would often come home late, he would be staying over night sometimes and I knew I had to do something to help him.

But that night, Kayden held a hand out to me and asked me to dance. It was strange because he is not a dancer. He is more of a sit and observe person. But that night we both danced into each other's arms and enjoyed each other.

Before I could go and grab the chocolate cake that I'd been eying since a long time, he got down on his knee and pulled out the ring.

"I've known I love you since a long time. There is no life for me without you Ava. And I'd be honoured to spend the rest of it with you. I want you to he my wife. To be my equal. My life partner and my friend. I don't really know what to say because I know you love me just as much as I love you and I don't need to convince you to marry me. I'll save the rest of the good things for the vows. Now, will you do the honour of marrying me and stealing my last name as well Mrs. Ava Murphy?"

And I whispered yes and gave him my left hand. It was beautiful, the love in his eyes. The serenity of the place, the moon shining above head, the stars twinkling as if congratulating us.

He later disclosed that he had to take permission from papa and mamma to marry me. And that was when all doubts cleared in my head for I knew I chose the right man. He matches the level of romantic I am. He matches the level of crazy I am. And he let's me do what I wish for.

_________

Mamma and papa were frantic for the last two months due to my wedding preparations. Enzo was so confused but when one night mamma explained him, he too began fussing over me. He would get sad sometimes because he knew I would be leaving and going to someone else so I had to spend the night cuddling him, much to my fiance's dissappointment.

Mamma dragged me to one of the best boutique and got my wedding dress ready. I approached Calla to make my reception dress. Sophia was going to make my wedding cake and the cupcakes for the guests. The other guys were helping papa and mamma.

Papa came to my office one day and sat down heavily on the chair in front of me. "You'll leave us." He had said.

"No. I'll still be in town papa. I'm just getting married. It'll still be the same." I assured him with a fond smile on my face.

"It'll not be the same." He protested.

"Papa. Nobody could ever replace you in my life. You'll always be my papa and the first man I've ever loved okay? Not Kayden, not anyone else. I know every moment you stayed with me because I wasn't okay. You knew it before me. And I can't explain how much I love you and respect you for that. I'll always be your little girl. No matter what. I promise. And you know that Kayden will take good care of me."
