Chapter 18

Victoria's pov

The sun peeked from behind the curtains on Tori's face. With a soft groan Tori felt herself wake, the sunlight impossible to ignore once she noticed it. She sighed and opened her eyes, squinting to see the evil sun streaming in from the window, the annoying light that had disturbed her much needed sleep.

She looked at the time. 12.04 am. Well hell. She had gotten to bed 05-something, she couldn't really remember. Well... with another sigh she sat up running her hands trough her hair before standing up. Some sleep was better then no sleep, she concluded and went into the bathroom.

After a quick shower she went downstairs. She was greeted by the familiar smell of breakfast. That's right, Mason did mention breakfast at 12 didn't he? Unknowingly she licking her lips at the thought of some food. She made her way to the source of the heavenly smell.

She entered the dining room, with a full table of wolves eating and chatting among themselves. The sight made her smile, at the familiar sight thinking of her pack, even if she felt her heart sting, the sight did make her smile.

Assessing the room, Tori saw the table was a long horse shoe shaped table. At the head of the table, in the middle was the biggest chair where Mason himself was seated. To his right was Chase and next to him was Lilly, his mate. Then came the corner and his friends sat on either side his third next to Lilly as the third is the protector, and Tristan on the other side closer to Chase as he was (supposedly and I say this not believing a word of it) his advisor. His future right hand.

To Masons left sat his mate, The Luna, whom I had yet to meet. Next to her was an empty seat, my seat I guess, then Masons Beta and Third in command. Just like next to Lilly was Chases future third and future Beta, If chosen.

Something not many remember or think about. We are born with the blood, be it alpha or beta, but that doesn't make you automatically chosen, although in most cases they prove themselves worthy and are the obvious chose. In this case, I hope Chase wasn't to blinded by friendship to see what a mistake it would be to make Tristan Beta, in his current state.

I made my way to the end of the table when Mason saw me. Mason nodded as a sign of respect, and she returned the favour, neither loosing eye contact. Mason, who had frowned at this when they first met laughed. Surprising those around him.

"Good Morning Victoria, take a seat, enjoy the food"

He gestured to the empty chair.

"This is My lovely wife - and Mate - Wendy"
