Chapter 23

Victoria's POV

My other classes flew by and I was now making my way to the cafeteria to grill Chase. I found him sitting by one of the tables and grabbed a sandwich and made my way over to him. He was sitting at the edge of the table, Lily to his left and I sat down on the right ignoring whoever had been there before. The rest of the guys didn't care as they were busy inhaling their food.

I made eye contact with Chase and in a few seconds I entered his mind.

"Why the hell is my english teacher a Vampire?!!!"

"What the...?" Chase mental voice said as he jumped.

"You okay Chase?" Lilly asked a loud a bit worried.

He nodded smiling reassuringly and looked back to me.

"Shit you surprised me!" He said mentally.

"I don't see why, you talk to the pack link with how many wolves?" It was a rhetorical question "I don't see how little me could be any different" I mentally shrugged.

"Because one: We shouldn't be able to, which I guess that's your doing"

"Yep"

"And second: cause the pack can't speak unannounced, there is a slight tug or knock on your mental door"

"And third because your presence is not the same as another pack member, hell your presence is stronger than my dads!"

I chuckled, earning a few weird looks from the table as none had said anything funny.

"Whatever. Tell my why I have a vampire as an english teacher!"

"Oh, you mean Mr. Black?"

"Seriously? He calls himself Mr. Black?" I gave a mental snort. That is just lame! And unoriginal. The vampire Mr. Black. Chase didn't say anything just gave me a mental shrug and a nod. "That I so not his real name" I said then realized I was walking down the wrong line of questions.

"Why is he here? Why is a vampire allowed at the school, even on the territory??" I asked a slightly annoyed tone in my voice.

I wanted to rip his throat out from the second I saw him, or possibly kiss him... boy that was just wrong.

"I dont know everything. like his real name, but dad approved him so I trust his judgement" Chase said.

I frowned. Not only because of Chase's words, but because that meant he was here to stay. Fuck my like, royally!

"Damn it!" I said aloud and the table turned to me.

"you okay?" Lilly asked.

"Yeah" I waved my hand dismissing the question. "Just forgot to buy food"

To Chase I said nothing, just gave him a nod of respect before I turned my back on them and went to grab something to eat.

You can't really turn your back on an alpha without pissing them of. or any high rank really. by turning you back you're basically saying I don't see you as a threat. which in my case was true but by nodding I avoided that drama. Not that I thought Chase was gonna wolf out, he was surprisingly chill, especially for an Alpha.

I went over to the cafeteria lady and grabbed with me a tray. she slammed the food, pasta to my surprise, on the plate and handed to to me. I grabbed an apple to and a bottle of water, then paid for it. I so didn't wanna be here so I made my way out of the cafeteria to eat outside. only to walk into someone on my way out. and of course because the fate had a twisted sense of humor it had to be him.

The impact of the hit made me stumble backwards, almost falling and dropping my tray. I never hit the ground. Instead a hand around my waist prevented my fall and the tray was in his other. The bottle wasn't even tipped over.

I looked up in shock as he had saved me from the fall, only to find him a few inches from my face. His piercing eyes looking at me with worry, "are you alright?"

Too surprised all I could do was nod.

A smile formed on his face and then he frowned. Hearing the murmurs around the room. We were catching people's attention. He let me go, with some reluctance in his eyes.

I said something I'd never believe in my wildest dreams I'd ever say to a vampire. "Thank you"

He looked at me, his intense gaze warmed me to my very core, "Your welcome"

I felt unbelievably disoriented, stupid and annoyed with myself as I had let his scent affect me and turned me into an idiot. "My tray?" I said.

He made an O-face and handed it to me, bottle still standing. I just gave him a quick nod and hurried out off there.

Why on gods green earth had I been cursed to find a vampire attractive? I could practically feel my ancestors rolling over in their graves. I was totally crushing on my hot vampire teacher. What the hell was wrong with me?!

I sat down under a tree on the school grounds a fair distance away from everyone and ate my food in blissful peace. Ignoring the tingly feeling he had left me with and the how the spot he had touched me still felt warm.

Ignoring it all, I watched the woods, were a squirrel jumped from a branch to another till he was out of sight, then a few birds flew passed. I enjoyed the moment of peace before I had to get back to the real world.

I sat there thinking about everything that had happened until now. Avoiding the memory of home, but everything else up till now flashed through my head and I sighed. I still had no clues.

My brother working with vampires. My brother had control of my pack. Those were the facts. but also the only once I had.

How did my brother get in contact with vampires? Who was in charge of them? Who was he working with? And not to mention, who was hunting and kidnapping werewolf mates?

I had to find this out. I needed to help my pack. I had to help them. Nothing was going to distract me from my pack. Not even a hot greek god of a vampire teacher.
