"This is so freaking cool." You say, bouncing up and down on the couch.  The little treehouse contains a small couch, a table with some art supplies on it, and a little bookshelf with a bunch of little random things.

"It's mostly my sisters'." Jacob shrugged. He motioned him hand to all the  stuff on the table and shelf.

"Still," You say. You think if this is the right time to ask your question. "Is it safe to talk in here?" you ask Jacob, trying to sound casual.

"What do you mean?"

"Like, can we talk here with nobody hearing us?"

"Yeah."

You take a deep breath, before asking. "So, is this going to be like - serious?" Jacob looks at you with a serious face. You try so hard not to giggle at the way he furrows his eyebrows.

"If you want it to be. . ." Jacob says. He puts on his puppy dog eyes. You slap his arm playfully. He laughs. "I want it to be."

"Me too." You add on. He scoots closer to you. You try not to notice too much. But you can't help it. You can see Jacob's hand shake with nervousness as he reaches for your hand. It's warm to the touch. He scoots even closer.

"Remember," Jacob says. "Nobody can hear us."

He closes the gap without a warning his warm lips press against yours. It was even better than the last time. It was longer for one thing, but there was something else.

It seemed more passionate. Like it meant more. You enjoyed it greatly. When he let go, you almost want to grab him back and start up again. But instead, a creak signals the opening of the treehouse door.

"JACOB!" Erica screams. She runs at him, and starts punching him pathetically. "YOU LEFT ME ALONE AT SCHOOL AGAIN. MOM MADE IT CLEAR YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO WALK ME HOME!"

She turns to you and smiles happily. "Sorry you have to see this, Jacob's Girlfriend." She continues punching, while Jacob wrestles her off of him. When he finally does, Erica pouts at him from the corner. He sits back down.

"Girlfriend?" Jacob asks, trying not to sound obvious.

"Girlfriend." Erica clarifies. "I saw you two kissing through the window. It's so clear that's what you are. Friends? No way hose. I'm going to tell Emma. Do you know where she is?"

"No." Jacob says, sitting Erica down on the edge of the couch. "And you are not going to tell her. Promise me?"

"Hmmm . . ." Erica thinks.

"I'll make you a deal," Jacob says miserably, cheeks flushing red. "I'll give you all my allowance for a week." Erica raises her eyebrows, and her brother sighs, even more miserably than before. "And half the candy I'll get from Halloween." he ads.

"Deal." Erica says, jumping up to the door. "But that doesn't mean I won't tell mom and dad!" with that, she leaps out the door, and climbs a ladder back down to the ground. Jacob makes a whining sound.

"I'm not supposed to have girls over without permission." he explains.

"Oof." You say. You check your watch. It's already four, and you need to get your homework done. "Well, I better get heading home."
