Chapter 42

I look at Justin and the new girl stand in front of us but next to their booth which is a bit far from ours. She wraps her arms around his and widely smiles at us showing off her perfect smile. I turn my gaze to Justin and see him sucking his lower lip making my lips twitch into a half smile. I have influenced him on doing that.

"Why don't you join us then?" Kevin says and I keep looking at them, scanning Selena. She is wearing some loose sweater, tight denim jeans and Adidas sneakers, you can see she hasn't done anything to her hair but that doesn't mean it doesn't look perfect. She looks really pretty.

They approach us and take a seat on our booth, Justin sitting next to me and Selena next to Kevin. I feel the butterflies in my stomach as Justin is sitting next to me and I inwardly groan for feeling this way. I don't know if I should thank or hate Kevin for doing this but if I'm honest I feel somewhat happy that Justin is next to me. I have missed him, even though I see him everyday at school and sometimes accidentally - maybe not - in his room, but we haven't been this close ever since last time.

The waitress approaches us and her eyes widen when she sees we have grow in number but soon come back to normal and politely smiles at us, showing her one dimple on her cheek. "Uh, should I bring your drinks from the other table?" She asks Justin and Selena and they chuckle, probably forgot about it.

"Yeah, thanks." Selena answers, sweetly smiling at her, and I tilt my head to the side as I feel shadowed by her.

She is really pretty, her long curly hair really compliments her. She has these cute cheeks and a bit of natural blush on them making her adorable. Justin deserves this kind of girlfriend, a beautiful, sweet kind of girlfriend. She is the perfect match to him. I'm glad he has come to his sense and found someone like her, because me with him what a joke.

I suddenly feel Justin's leg touch mine and I immediately move mine as they touch. I look at Justin with the corner of my eyes and see him looking back at me so I look down at my lap. Now, is when I start hating Kevin for telling them to join us. I feel like digging a hole in the floor and hide there forever, or until this ends. "So, what's your name?" Kevin asks Selena as he drinks his coke making me look up.

"Selena, yours?" She says looking between me and Kevin. Justin probably hasn't told her about me, but then again why should he talk about me. It actually hurts a bit to know that I don't matter to him anymore so I'm not something to discuss or tell about but obviously everybody would try and avoid talking about me.

"I'm Kevin and this is Ashley." He answers and I smile at her, politely, which she returns, and I feel jealousy in me.

"Justin has told me-" she abruptly stops as she makes a weird face and then turns to glare at him. "He has told you what?" I ask and turn to look at him but he doesn't turn to look at me. Even by just looking at his profile it haves me weak on my knees. He is perfect in every single way.

"I told her nothing, just that, we, uh," he stammers at the end, still refusing to turn to look at me, and I see him fidgeting with his fingers on his lap, showing a nervous manner.

"He told me you used to date each other but it sadly ended. You look like a cute couple though." She gushes and my eyes widen.

She is on a date with him, she shouldn't say those kind of things. If she is interested in him, which I happen to notice that she is, then instead of shipping me and Justin together then she should ship herself with him. And I don't think I can hear those kind of things without accidentally slipping out that I might or not still have feelings for the moron next to me, for example by turning into a red tomato.

"So, Selena, tell me a bit about yourself." Kevin, thank goodness, changes subject and she turns to look at him. She starts telling us about herself, from where she comes, stuff like that but I don't pay attention to her as I look at Justin, who doesn't seem to be paying attention to her either.
