Another uncle in the making!

If you were to tell me that a year from today I would have punched someone who was thought to be the unsub.... I would have questioned the sanity of said person. But after the hell of a year that I've had..... anything is fucken possible in this universe.

You see what happened was, we were having dinner and enjoying time together while we took a break from working on the case. It was when we were leaving we all noticed a shady guy following some girl making us all follow suit.

However that same man was able to get the upper hand on most of the team.... Until I joined in at least. I punched him in the jaw before kicking him in the gut to create distance between us.
"You gonna have to do a lot harder then that. I won't let you hurt my team." I told as as I got into fighting position.
"I don't care who you are, but you messed with the wrong man." He told before looking towards me and stood back slightly. "River?"
Once he said my name I lowered my hands and gave a confused look once I realised who it was.
"Uncle Bobby?"
"Shit, you've gotten taller." He told making me smile.
"Uncle Bobby!" I exclaimed as I threw my arms into the air and rushed to give him a hug. "Sorry for fighting ya, I thought you were a bad person or thang."
"It's alright Munchkin." He told as he gave my head a few pats before I pulled away.
"I'm sorry. But don't you have three uncles baby?" Derek asked
"Yes and no. Dic isn't my biological uncle, and neither is Bobby. I grew up knowing him cause of Marine."
"The criminal?" Spencer asked
"They know your uncle is a criminal?" Bobby asked
"Just that. Nothin else, like who he is and what not." I told quietly so only he heard. "But what are you doing here?"
"Buddy of mine says there's a psychic convention in town, and trying to help your cousins friend learn more about the topic and what not."
"Were you there when it happened?"
"I was across the road. I'm truely sorry for your loss."
"It's all good Bobby. At lease Uni boy was with him so he wasn't alone. Besides I punched him for it so it's all good with us now."
"So who's your friends?"
"This is Aaron, David, Derek, Emily, J or Jj, the bubbly gal who is going to explode from over excitement due to meeting another family member is Penelope, and he is Spencer."
"Nice to meet ya."
"Tell us everything about River!" Penelope squealed.
"Wow she really is bubbly. Reminds me a little bit of your cousins friend."
"When did that happen?"
"Think it was after St Louis."
"I remember that. I thought the fucker died there and then a few months later called me and I thought someone was making some sick joke. Then few months later Marine broke into my place to give a message to them."
"Weird family we are."
"That we are. But in all seriousness though, she's been with them since 2005?"
"Yep."
"Surprised she's stuck around this long." I joked making him smile.
"You'd be surprised how much she's like them and how much they go out of their way to protect her. Especially D...." He began before I quickly covered his mouth and he gave me a confused look.
"They don't know their actual names.... Cause you know." I stated as I pulled away.
"Good to know." He told before his phone went off.

He picked up his phone and saw a number I ended up having to know, incase I couldn't get ahold of the others.
"Hello?...... sorry 'bout that. I ended up getting ambushed by my niece..... No not biological.... She's cousins with the boys..... yes that's the one." He told before moving the phone a bit. "She says hi."
"Hiya?"
"She says hi back. I'll catch up with you soon ok? Okay. Stay safe." He told before hanging up.
"Gotta go?"
"Yeah. It's ok though because I will keep in touch when needed. Okay?" He asked as he pulled me into a hug.
"Okay." I told before he pulled away.
"That's my girl." He told messing my hair again and left after waving bye to my team.
'I'm glad he hasn't changed a bit.'
"I'm adding it to the list!" Penelope told making us all laugh.
'And I'm glad I have them.... Even when they can't know.'
