The Lady and Her Genius.

She seems to be changing slightly.

(Spencer p.o.v)

I was sitting on my bed with my hands in my hair trying to wrap my mind around everything I had seen.
'What's happened to her?'

~ ( on to the case ) ~

We were able to track the unsub down. The downside of it though, is that they had another victim. We all rushed into the building and went quietly through, to find the unsub and victim. River was by Rossi's side so we didn't get in the way of the job.
'I just want to go home and go to sleep with River.'

We heard a loud crash before Rossi was over coms.
"We found the unsub!"
We all rushed to where they were to help. Except we didn't expect to see what we did. When we entered we saw River punch the unsub before kicking him in the head to get him to the ground.
"River?" I quietly spoke making her look towards us.
When we made eye contact I saw no emotion or anything in her eyes.
'What's happened to you River?'

~ ( back to before ) ~

"What's happening to her?!" I quietly cried.
Everything hurt. I didn't know what was happening with her or if I would be able to help. I pulled at my hair and tried to stop my body from shaking from all my emotions being overwhelming when there was a quiet knock at my door.

I whipped my eyes before getting up to go answer it.
'I really hope it no one from the team.... Or Nik. Or anyone for that matter.'
I gently opened my door and was shocked that I saw River there with tears in her eyes.
"I need help Spence." She quietly told making me open my arms and she rushed forward.
"It's ok. I've got you. I'm here for you as long as you need."
'Guess she's just trying to put on a brave face for us all.'

I was able to move her to my bed thankfully and just waited till she was calm enough to talk.
'I hate seeing her like this.... How many of these did she have when she was in Hawaii before the others joined her? All alone?'
"I'm sorry."
"Why are you sorry?"
"Shits a mess. I'm a mess. I hurt that man with a side I don't show due to me being scared." She told before crying some more, making me just hold her in my arms.
"What do you mean other side of you?"
"I just.... What if I just snap and turn into Nik?"
"Hey look at me." I told gently pulling her face so she could look at me. "Your ok. Your not like Nik...."
"But I am! I have a darkness in me and I'm scared of it."
'Where have I heard her say that?'

(Memory)

"Look Spencer. Everything is not black and white for me! My family is a fucken mess! There's a darkness that's surrounded my family for so long!.... There's a darkness in me!"

'That was before she went missing for three days and I thought she hated me....'
"River.... I'm here for you. I always will be. I'll help protect you from the darkness.... Your not going to be like Nik. Okay?"
"Ok." She quietly told and I almost missed it.
'I need to ask her.... I need to know.'
"What do you mean this other side of you?" I asked making her look down.
"I'm like a coin. Like how I'm a Finley and not a Finley."
"What do you mean by that?"
"My family's name. It's changed so much over time. At one point we were known as Rose.... My name has changed and I'm just tired of pretending things are ok.... That I haven't fulfilled what it means to be a Finley."
'It's going to be ok. Everything will get better someday.... Somehow.'
